I really enjoyed this guidebook. Since I don't travel much anym

I really enjoyed this guidebook. Since I don't travel much anymore, this literary tour of beautiful images of gardens was the next best thing. I loved the historical facts, too, about dedicated Hoosier garden growers who fostered and preserved botanical gems. People such as: "a park district gardener," for whom the Ogden Gardens in Valparaiso, Indiana is named after in his honor. Also, the Michigan City, Indiana International Friendship Gardens, with such a "rich and colorful past...The gardens were developed by three Stauffer brothers, nursery men from Hammond, Indiana, who had created the original garden at the World's Fair."
Maps are included in the book, descriptive photos, and inspirational quotes. Clarence Stauffer for instance said: "We hope the world may become as friendly as flowers in a garden." And, from one of my favorite Hoosier heroes, Gene Stratton-Porter: "The chief joy of a garden lies in making things live, making them grow abundantly and flower beautifully."
What a useful, radiant literary gem this book is! Thanks to the author/photographer for compiling such beautiful photos and interesting facts.
