Meet the Author

Ever since I can remember I’ve had an addiction to books, and from the moment I picked up my first Anne Rice novel, I was hooked on the paranormal. The compelling lure of the paranormal world is irresistible. It is a world where anything and everything is possible, and the boundaries of humanity need not apply. A world in which life spans are measured by centuries and millennia, rather than decades, and a woman can possess inhuman strengths and kick major ass, yet still retain her innate femininity.
Why Vampires? They are the ultimate bad boys.

Women love a dangerous man, and what could be more dangerous than a vampire. Vampires embody everything we crave about the stereotypical bad boy. They exude confidence and sensuality. They are exciting, mysterious, and the epitome of masculine perfection—strong, youthful, and indescribably gorgeous. What’s not to love?

My first novel, Bound by Blood, combines my two favorite paranormal legends: witches and vampires—with a little romance thrown into the mix. I hope you enjoy it.

Fantastic start for a Debut ! Thrilling, captivating and Bewitching !

A fresh captivating storyline filled with the world of the paranormal - witches and vampires but ah har - it contains twists to the tale, giving it a different spin on things. Moments where you will find yourself grinning sheepishly, giggling and also cringing. Other moments where you wander what the hell is going to happen!! (( HIDES IN CORNER WITH HANDS ON EYES ))

Bound by blood involves .kick arse characters - humour, action, suspense, romance, erotic encounters even of the mind type lol, Murder mystery and certainly mayhem.

Nathan and Brianna upon meeting had an instant attraction; the chemistry between them was wafting off the pages. Nathan was old school, handsome, hunky and of course drop dead gorgeous!! A knight in shining amour!! My kinda man... The passion the characters had was enough to send sparks off your reader and have you flipping frantically through the pages. The sexual encounters where certainly smoking ** waggles eyebrows ** enough so that the characters passed out due to such an intense emotion overload ** (one could only wish hey lol.. ) now your intrigued !! lol.

Nathan and Brianna and her partner are all involved in investigating the murder of several woman all drained dry of blood with no markings what so ever. They are trying to find out why they are being targeted and by whom, we are taken on a whirlwind , and roller coaster ride where at every page and every corner something new became about ! I won't go into too much detail as far as the story you really have to read it for yourself.

Saying this the story was evenly set out with equal amounts of passion, romance, action and suspense. A riveting storyline that will captivate you from the beginning and have you reading right till the very end. I know I did!! Emotions and descriptions are all well put forth, creating that place in your mind where you are able to envisage and see what's going on. I enjoy a book that drags you in where you feel like you are there !!

The character development was well placed, I enjoyed every character set forth, the evil where depicted as evil as you could imagine and even a twist and a turn in there that you certainly won't see coming.

Overall. I really enjoyed this story ... Fluent flowing storyline, bewitching female lead, spellbinding hunk ** inserts wolf whistle here ** and secondary characters I'm sure you will certainly enjoy as much. If this was a hamburger I'd say you go the lot!!!!!

I look forward to more in this series !!!

    Captivating, Exciting, and Thrillingly Suspenseful!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a perfect start to a new series - I totally loved it! The story has everything you could ask for in a Paranormal Romance as it was full of suspense, excitement, clean taste of erotic scenes, humorous bantering between the characters, kick ass fighting, witches, vampires, and lots of intense emotion that will have your head a spinning in totally amazement.
The romance between the FBI Agent/Witch Brianna and Nathan was immediately electrifying in every scene that I could literally fill the power and desire between them two as if their magic was coming through the pages. The erotic love scenes were deliciously tasteful that left your mind's sexual hunger very satisfied. The romance just bloomed sweetly and playfully as their love grew for each other.
The partnership between FBI Agent/Witch Brianna Reese and FBI Agent Todd Morrison was very humorous and heartwarming as they formed a bonding friendship while working the case of trying to find a serial killer.
The story was weaved with so much intensity of hunting down this mysterious vampire killer that at some points it kept you on the edge of your seat. The killer's attacks were brutal and viscous to the point of torturing his victims and healing them just enough to keep them alive along enough till they handed over the special gifts the victims were born with as witches. Like in every suspenseful detective type investigation the story takes many turns as the agents get closer to capturing their killer, especially when he and his accomplice is right under their noses. The best part is finding out the true motives which are shocking in this story and you will have to read to find out those motives - LOL, What! You thought I was going to tell you - NOT!
I have to admit that I now have a new favorite heroine - yes that's right, I totally loved Brianna's character, Such a strong fighter with a kick azzz attitude that can stand on her own without the help of any type of man whether he is mortal or immortal. This is truly one story that everyone is going to fall in love with and a series that will keep us Jonesing for the next book until the next release comes out.
The Ending had the perfect Happy Ever After that I about had tears in my eyes from all the happiness. I look forward to reading more about the new adventures that Brianna, Nathan, and Morrison take on for the Vampire Council as they work with the Enforcers to protect the innocent humans and keep the vampires and witches secret from society. Excellent Read!

    Fantastic Read/Unique & Original Story-line

    4.5 Stars!!!! **********Spoiler Alert************

I finished reading Bound by Blood by P.A. Lupton and really enjoyed the book. What I found to be its strength was the original story.

It is the story of a FBI special agent Brianna Reece, who is hunting a serial murderer whose victims all resemble Brianna and have psychic abilities much like Brianna. She does not know this but she descends from a long line of powerful witches. She also meets and is attracted to the main suspect, Nathan Donovan-who happens to be a devastatingly gorgeous vampire.

Having lost her mom at the time of her birth she has never known any family but her father who was always reluctant to share anything with her or talk to her about her psychic abilities. Nathan knows about her past and family history and starts to tell her about it and train her to build her power.

The victims are tied to Brianna in more than appearance and knowing more about her past as well as how to control her power and ability will only help her to solve the mystery, catch and killer and keep her from becoming the next victim. She begins to fall for Nathan while trying to come to terms with his being a vampire and her witch ancestry.

This novel is a paranormal romance but also murder mystery also.all-wrapped into one and has so many interesting details that are woven into the story that you are constantly wondering, who is it? Who is the murderer? And I have to admit that when we finally found out, I was surprised. Alot of Romantic suspense these days are very predictable. This story kept feeding you new clues and I must admit I have been tossing around a whole bunch of possibilities in my head. You could feel the fear and the suspense as the story unfolds. I had a hard time putting this down. I always wanted to know what was on the next page.

Another plus is the primary as well as secondary characters in this book. I hated the villains and loved the heroes/heroines. They were memorable, and multi dimensional. I felt as though I was in the story right along with them experiencing the action. Their responses and behavior were not scripted, fake or contrived. I finished the book wondering if another future book might tell the story of some of the secondary characters-always a mark of a well written story for me.

Being a big PNR fan, I only wish that the romance between Nathan and Brianna was a bit more drawn out. I like when a couple are not all that trusting of their feelings or of each other 'till the end of the novel. But, while I make this comment, I can tell you that I did not feel this was a problem in any way. One of my favorite scenes is when they first meet and she, being a psychic (empath) tries to read him and he notices-he is on to her. He closes off, looks at her, smiles ever so slightly and winks.

This was a fantastic read and will keep this book on my shelf to re-read another day. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys PNR &/or Romantic suspense and am really excited to see what other stories this author shares with us in the future. P.A. Lupton's writing style, story telling and attention to detail is up there with the greats. And should she continue in this vein will be as well known as they are very soon.

    Got Editing?

I liked the story and characters, however, the book could use a serious editing session or two. I wouldn't send an email this poorly edited. I only paid 99 cents for it so I'm not that upset. There are other books in this series which I would consider reading, but I will not pay $13.00 for an un-edited book.

    Paranormal meets Mystery/Suspense..gotta love it

In P.A. Lupton's debut novel we have the beginnings of a really strong PNR series. In Bound by Blood we meet Brianna Reese, FBI Agent, witch and all round alpha female. Brianna newly transferred to Denver is partnered with Morrison a old school FBI Agent and both have to investigate the death of several drained females. During the investigation we meet Nathan Vampire extraordinaire..Nathan has some secrets that will change Brianna's life forever.

PAL has created a strong female lead who doesn't need any man to help her kick butt whether it be human or vampire. She is a very compelling character with a well rounded back story which helps the reader emotionally connect and care about her. The male leads are perhaps not as well rounded as Brianna with a few scenes that just didn't seem to be in character for the type of male presented. Short of that the plot is great, a true old fashion who-dun-it and a surprising end.

I can't wait for the next book to see how these characters develop even more and see how Morrison handles his changes. Solid 4 stars which I can see heading for 5 if her next one is as good as the first. Recommended to all PNR fans especially those who like a bit of mystery with their vamps!

A great story ruined by a lack of professionalism

Hardcore FBI agent, Brianna Reece, has a secret: a supernatural ability to detect and channel other people's emotions. She's kept this ability hidden for years, but when she investigates a series of related murders, she is not only forced to reveal her true self, she also discovers that she's not the only one who's keep keeping secrets.

This book has a lot going for it. The plot is innovative, the pacing is swift, and the characters are interesting. The relationship between Brianna and her partner Morrison is especially well developed. Also, the premise is inventive. It would definitely lend itself to a sequel.

If I was able to stop right there, the book would have gotten a three, possibly four, star rating. Unfortunately, there are a lot of problems. The first deals with mechanics. The spelling, grammar, and punctuation are so poor that there are at least two mistakes on every page. Even a professionally-edited book can contain an occasional error; however, this book reads like a rough draft. Also, since this book is written in first person by a U.S. citizen, spellings like 'colour' should have been amended.

There is also the matter of the main characters' lack of professionalism. It was impossible for me to believe that either Reece or her partner worked for the FBI given how they handled themselves while investigating the crime. Even local law enforcement officers would not have been that inept.

It's sad that a book with this much potential should be treated with such a lack of professionalism. While 'Bound by Blood' accomplished a few of the more difficult tasks of fiction (such as creating an interesting plot), it completely overlooked the easiest task (editing for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors).

    Loved it!

Agent Brianna Reese has moved up in the FBI thanks to her skills as an agent coupled with her natural inability to intuit other's emotions. Agent Reese is called into Denver, Colorado to assist in a serial killer investigation. She immediately notices an uncanny resemblance between her and all of the victims. The prime suspect of the investigation is Nathan Donovan who has ties to all of the victim through his security agency, Donovan Security. When Brianna and her partner go and interview Nathan they are struck with instant chemistry. Brianna, though very attracted to Nathan, knows that he is hiding something. Eventually they realize that their families were connected and that Brianna is a witch and Nathan is a vampire. They begin working together to solve the murders.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next installment of this series or anything else from this author.

Great new author, you should definitely read this!

A very smooth and entertaining read. I really enjoyed the author's plot twists and character descriptions which are very original, not a cookie cutter theme, which I really appreciated. If you like a strong heroine who can take care of herself, you will love this book. I think the thing I liked the most was her use of humor. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes to read paranormal series!

    Captivating!

I'll be frank here, any girl that can send a guy on his ass with a shiner to boot is all right in my books! I love me some kick-ass girl action. I love a girl that can stand toe-to-toe with the sexy and smoldering male lead and tell him exactly where he can stuff it. I was hooked within the first couple of pages. By the time I hit the tenth page, I was paper and the book was glue; I couldn't put it down. The plot was so unique. The build up was intense. I had no doubt in my mind that it all was possible, that it could happen to anyone! Throw tall, dark and gorgeous in the form of Nathan Donovan into the mix. wow, you've got trouble with a capital T. That boy needs to come with a sign: Beware! Too Hot To Handle. Would I change anything? Maybe the POV (point of view) from first person to perhaps third person, omniscient or objective. But was it a big deal? Hell no! Ms. Lupton bright every word to life and I eagerly look forward to more from her in the future.

Addictive and fresh, this story rocked!

I absolutely loved this book! Anytime an author can enter a paranormal world and give me a fresh and creative storyline, they have my attention. I loved the story of the Garner witch family and the twist at the end. I thought I had the killer pegged but I was wrong, kind of. The vampire lore is fresh with detailed explanations of why some can walk in the daylight and some can't.

Brianna kicks ass and this is before she gets her full boost of power. I love a hardheaded heroine. You can feel the instant connection between Nathan and Brianna and their love story is sweet and full of passion. I can't wait for the next installment and I hope to see more of Morrison as well. All the characters were well fleshed out and the storyline was solid.

What I loved most about the book was the author's imagination and ability to give her readers something new and exciting.

If you like paranormal romantic thrillers, this book is for YOU!

As a voracious reader, finding a new author is like winning the lottery! Bound by Blood is one such find for me, and will be for you if you like well paced paranormal romantic thrillers. The characters are multi-dimentional; the plot is tightly drawn and well paced; the writing style is articulate - even if the spelling of words comes from Canada!

I highly recommend this book and this author. I can't wait for additional books within this series!

    MUST read! Amazing Paranormal Romance!

This book was amazing! I can't wait to read more from P. A. Lupton! It was exactly what I love to see in a PNR - just enough mystery, romance, suspense, and action! The book flows so well. Typically, I put a book down about halfway through and read something else before going back to it. But I could NOT put this one down! I read it all in one night! I love that the heroine is a strong, independent woman - not a damsel in distress - but she can still have a steamy romance. I fell in love with all the characters, especially Nathan. If you like Paranormal Romances you will LOVE this!

Great Paranormal Romance for Adults 18+

From the very first sentence I knew this book was a winner. The author had a way of putting me into every scene whether it was a noisy night club, a luxurious penthouse apartment or the aftermath of a murder scene. I was completely immersed.

For example, when you read -- "There was no thunder, and no rain. Just streaks of shimmering light rolling across the sky and painting the darkness with glowing strands of electricity." -- Can't you just smell the ozone and feel the charged, dry air raising the hair on the back of your neck?

This moment of reflection comes early in the narrative and sets the stage for a steamy, paranormal thriller that ratchets up the tension with every turn of the page. But scenery isn't the only thing P.A. Lupton paints in vivid detail. Bound by Blood is definitely, without a doubt, for adults only. I am not kidding.

The violence is graphic (without being gratuitous). The suspense is so intense, it will make even the toughest reader's heart race. I gasped out loud more than once. One of the murder scenes even made me a little light headed. There's a strong romantic subplot with several love scenes hot enough to melt your Kindle.

The main character, Brianna Reece, is an independent, strong and courageous woman with martial arts skills that can lay a man out flat in no time. Something her FBI partner, Todd Morrison, has to experience for himself (twice) before he believes it. Their sarcastic banter is a good counter-balance for the nearly perfect relationship between Brianna and the oh-so-delicious and mysterious Nathan Donovan.

I hope we learn more about Nathan's past and the connection between his family and Brianna's in the sequel. And I really hope the sequel comes out soon!

    Enthralling Debut!

I really enjoyed this book! In fact, I sat down and read the whole novel in one night. There was so much suspense right from the start of the story that I found myself unable to put it down. Just the right mixture of humor, mystery, suspense, and sex, kept me fully engaged and eager to find out more. There was a good balance between the real world and the paranormal world. I especially loved the added twists to the vampire and witch mythologies. I personally appreciate a paranormal book where the author attempts to explain their origins. Where do vampires come from? Where do witches come from? In Bound by Blood, P.A. Lupton has some unique ideas about those origins. I laughed at the bantering between Brianna and her partner Morrison, and it was nice watching their friendship grow. The romance between Nathan and Brianna was electric. I love instant attraction, but I still liked that the relationship developed at a good pace. My favorite thing about Brianna though is that she kicks azzzz. She's no nonsense and can take care of herself. I can't wait until the next book is released!

    ~4.5 Stars~

    ~4.5 stars~

T.A. Lupton's Bound by Blood was a great read. I always feel like I am taking a big risk when I read a book by a new author, but this was one of those times that I wasn't disappointed. I think that I laughed three times before finishing the first three pages. F.B.I. Agent Brianna Reece has moved to Denver in order to work in a special division for difficult cases. Helped along by her psychic ability, she is on the hunt for a serial killer whose victims possess an eerie resemblance to her. The only connection between the murders is that each victim hired Donavon Security to protect them after experiencing a feeling of being "watched." The sparks that fly off of Brianna at her first glimpse of Nathan Donavan were amazing, and I couldn't help but smile as I picture their faces as they flirted with one another without trying to seem as if they were. I'm trying to avoid spoilers but Brianna uncovers some truths about herself as well Nathan during her investigation that leave her stunned.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who love Paranormal and Paranormal Romance. Bestsellers to you P.A. Lupton
