When Mrs. Jackson told me she was writing a paranormal book, I told her I don't do vampires, werewolves, fairies, etc. She promised there would be none of that. I have read the first book in this series and was really excited to see what she would do with book number two!

This book was a great follow up to the first book. There were some new things revealed with a second person becoming a part of the Cauld Ane people. There are surprises not hinted at, that show themselves before the end of the book. I would have liked to have seen some more of the new things that happened but perhaps Mrs. Jackson is saving that for book three. The book is a good stand alone if you have not read book one, I think you should do yourself a favor and read them both though. Perhaps I'm just partial to books that run in a series. I loved Tracey's other series also. Her Civil War time travel series. I like her writing.

I'll let the description below give you a run down on what happens with the book. I can say that Pepper, the main character finds herself being the victim of a man who is bent on making her life really miserable and does a good job of scaring the crap out of her. She is used to dealing with things on her own and is not good at asking anyone for help. She does find herself with two men who come to her rescue and they are not happy that there is more than one....

The story line moves along at a quick pace and it is one of those book you pick up and before you know it you have come to the end. I was surprised to find myself at the end of the book, I wanted more. I guess that is a good book when they leave you wanting more.....and you know another book will be coming! Can't wait for book number three!

After enjoying reading and enjoying the Civil Bride Series, I am really glad to find and enjoyed every moment spent going through this book. This couple seemed real as they evolved in their relationship with their family and friends around.
Since I have not read the first book yet, I felt like part of the story was missing which is this will receive 4 out of 5.

Recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an original book with a twist.
Wish that I could find her other book for this series for my nook. Also looking forward to seeing and enjoying future characters from this author.

    Love

I'm in love with the Cauld Ane Series. I have only been able to read the first two but I will be getting more when I can. I love, love these stories. To know who you are destined for is a powerfully potent combination along with a hot guy. ;)

    Carbon copy

Altthough I enjoyed book one, book two is very much a carbon copy of book one! There's actually many pages that are copied and pasted into the new story.
This book does have a bit of a twist in the story line but not much!

Tracey Jane Jackson is a new to me author, and I am glad that I found her (or she found me)! I didn't read the first book in the series and I was able to jump right into Bound By Fire (book 2) and not miss a beat, however, I loved the story and the characters so much that I really need to pick up book 1 now. The Cauld Ane series features characters that have a supernatural component, but it isn't the normal vampire or werewolf, it is something more original and much more fun to learn about.  The book just starts to delve into the "cold ones" and this is something that definitely peaked my interest.  The main characters Connall, Pepper, Dalton, Sam and Kade were fun to read about and they were well developed and felt like friends by the end of the book.
The author did a great job with setting the scenes and with the flow of the plot.  There were very few holes and the author did such a great job describing the city, the private jet, the horse stables and even the greenery in Scotland that the reader felt as if they were there with the characters.  The story has undeniable chemistry between the characters and the mind speak only enhances the connection that you can feel between them.  The book has some profanity and sexual/sensual scenes, but nothing erotic or off putting.  I love how the author combined a mystery, love, and paranormal all into one great read! The twists and turns throughout the book are fun, unpredictable and help the reader to understand all that the author has to offer.
Add this book to your TBR list and be prepared to want to read all of the other books in this series! I will be adding them to mine, because this book was like a potato chip, once you had one you can't stop! I can't wait to learn more about the "cold ones", the connections between the characters, the mindspeak and their inability to be hotter than a certain temperature....this author has a unique storyline and it is one that I want to read more of! Don't miss out on an amazing book!

As good as the first book.

I enjoyed this as much as "Bound by Blood" until the end when many characters came into play and not much connection to the story. All in all, a good read.
