"Of all the beds in London how did she wind up tied to his?"

Now I ask you, how I could not read more of Lavinia Kent's recent Avon Book release, "Bound by Temptation.

After her husband's tragic death, Clara Countess of Westington throws her life into a tale spin. She is the last one to leave the party, the scandal sheets love her and she is just headed down the wrong path. It seems that Clara quite frankly is trying to ruin herself. But things are about to change. It looks as if Clara is about to turn over a new leaf and not to soon, I might add. She's bored with trying to live the fast and free life style that her dearly departed husband loved so much. For Clara, staying home curled in front of a roaring fire with a nice book to read and fine claret to sip is just fine for her. So how did the young and very beautiful widow find herself tied to Mr. Jonathan Master's bed at "The Dog and Ferret" pub one spring night? God, if only she could remember but things are a bit foggy. She's done some crazy things in her lifetime but not enough to wipe out a whole night of revelry. Now this dark and dangerously handsome man is starring down at her accusing her of stealing his watch. What's a girl to do but wait, but Clara isn't the waiting type. Oh, is Mr. Master's in for the time of his life.

Jonathan Master doesn't have time to deal with a thief-beautiful or not. Always known for his astute honesty and being able to face any decision with objectivity he now finds himself in quite a pickle. He can't believe the audacity of the Countess. Claiming she has no idea how his pocket watch got into her cloak when he had seen it drop from her very pocket to fall to the floor. Yes, the ravishing chit had been more than inebriated to know what she was doing. And yes her swift and nimble fingers had clutched the watch with out him even feeling it. The woman was indeed half-to-the-wind if she thought because she was aristocracy that she would get away with it. In Masters' defense there was no other way to bring her to count than to tie her to his bed, leave her there alone long enough to scare the truth out of her. After that he would be on his way with truth on his side to help in the hunt for his young run-away sister, Isabella. There is just one small glitch. Masters is drawn to the Countess just as much as she is to him.

In a moment of passion the tides have turned and pride and prejudice come to call and claim a small part in truly mystifying the struggling lovers. Neither wanting to accept the others reason and pride plays a huge part in keeping the lover separated. In the end will they let their stubbornness will out? Or will they concede that they are truly destined for one another.

BOUND BY TEMPTATION is a brilliantly written book with vivacious and genuine characters flowing from every page. The book was raw with emotions that stripped the characters down to the bare bone and built them up again. As a reader I adore stores that resonate in my mind for hours or days after I have finished the book. This story has everything true romance devotees want and deserve in their romance stories.

Bound by Temptation is a strong historical that will bind readers into wanting more masterful novels by Ms. Kent

In 1819 in Norfolk thirty year old widow Clara, Lady Westington, wakes up fully dressed but tied to a bed. She has been tied naked to a bed so this is a new experivcne as is her not knowing how she got there. Known for her sexual scandals that Clara toasts her beloved late spouse with, Clara realizes she is tied up by Jonathan Masters, the lord of prim and proper.

He caught her stealing so tied her up, but is unsure what to do with her. Neither wants the other yet desires one another. They actually become acquainted and begin to understand the ghosts that drive each other; hers being her late husband and his being what he allowed his runaway sister to do. As they fall in love, Clara and Jonathan consider marriage but each concludes separately that is unfeasible.

The second Masters family Regency romance (see A Talent For Sin) is a straightforward tale that sub-genre fans will fully relish as Lavinia Kent never takes her eye off the ball of focusing on the changing lead couple relationship yet also provides supporting depth. Clara and Jonathan are complex characters with each having personal issues that have led to their recent behavior, which converges with his tying her to his bed. Bound by Temptation is a strong historical that will bind readers into wanting more masterful novels by Ms. Kent.
