Overview

Abby Williams has got it made: First a new job as magazine editor in London, and now a trip to an exotic island to review a five-star resort with poolside service. Unfortunately, on day two of her vacation, Abby finds herself bound and stuffed into a burlap bag and dragged across two continents. And worse than that? Her hottie abductor has got her distracted. Maybe escape is overrated.

Iain Brodie is a muscle-bound mercenary. He just helped a despotic dictator take over an island. He's also Abby's kidnapper, and he has his own problems. Framed for a murder he didn't commit and a boss who's out to get him, he has to face facts: Early retirement is out of the question and Abby Williams looks damned good in a burlap bag.

Elise Sax delivers another hilarious page-turner, filled with adventure, murder, mayhem, and love. BOUNTY is a sexy, wild ride.

This novel has all the elements I love in a story. Everything from nail biting danger to laugh out loud moments-and of course some steamy romance. It’s a zany adventure of kidnapping and mystery that leads all over the world and back again. I found the plot to be just the right amount of “over the top” to be amusing but not ridiculous. The heroine is thrown into outrageous and dangerous situations, yet proves to be surprisingly competent despite her naiveté (as well as being slightly prone to hysterics). And to top things off the hero is tall, dark, handsome and dangerous. Who could resist? Well done Ms. Sax!

Journalist Abby Williams has it made. Her new job with London’s High Life magazine is sending her to a tropical island to report on a luxury hotel. She’ll spend her days by the pool, drinking daiquiris, eating five-star meals, and soaking up the sun on the magazine’s dime. Or maybe she’ll just be kidnapped, transported to Chechnya, and sold off as a bride to a geriatric psychopath. So much for that dream assignment. Iain Brodie is only interested in two things — the money he’ll get for delivering Abby to Chechnya, and getting her to shut up. He’s got bigger problems, like being framed for a high-profile murder he didn’t commit and keeping alert while his former comrades turn against him. But while any other woman in Abby’s situation would turn into an emotional mess, she challenges his every move and keeps him guessing. And she looks damned good, even when she’s been through hell. Abby does more than take things in stride. She’s not about to just lie down and accept this crazy fate; she’s going to figure out an escape, even if it means running through a forest minefield with the sexy as sin man who kidnapped her in the first place. I leapt into midair and landed on him, wrapping my limbs around his waist, holding on for dear life. Drunk men in kilts who set themselves on fire and persistent South African stalkers are no match for her, though, especially when she falls head over heels for her mercenary kidnapper, a man who can’t talk her into staying safe while he tries to figure out who’s behind the attempts on his life. What follows is an insane adventure, filled with mishaps, mysteries, double-crossing, and some sexy times with her gorgeous kidnapper. The Verdict... Love love LOVE this book! I’ve already read it three times now, and I’m going back for more. It’s that good! This might just be the craziest story I’ve ever read, and I loved every hilarious second of it, from Abby’s insane escape attempts to the best character EVER, her mother. Abby’s nutty observations and refusal to be meek made for some truly laugh-out-loud moments, and Iain is beyond swoon-worthy. I can’t wrap my head around how a story can straddle ridiculous hilarity and erotic hotness all at once, but Bounty certainly does that. Unfortunately, my word power is too limited to explain the incredible awesomeness of this book, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. If you like your romance with a heaping side of adventure and a big daub of fun, Bounty is a keeper. And I’m off to get my hands on everything else Elise Sax has ever written.

Loved this book. Very quirky and funny. I love how Elise Sax has her characters say and experience the things most try to hide.

This is a rollicking fun romantic suspense. Strong alpha male meets quirky girl reporter.  Love and laughter is not in the playbook but somehow they end up there.  Another fantastic read from Elise Sax

This was my first book by this auhor and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! The two main characters were perfect for each other and there were moments where I caught my breath. The hero is a man of few words, so it's saying something that his declarations were what made me lose my ability to breathe for a few seconds. I love their interactions, even in the beginning where things weren't going well at all (a kidnapping can be kind of hard on a relationship). I will be reading more by this author, especially if the next reads are similar in quality to this one.

This book was extremely fast paced with a lot of intrigue, romance, and humor. I needed something funny, and the author's skill at adding humor  even during dangerous situations was amazing. It was a great read!

Bounty by Elise Sax is full of adventure, action, humor and romance with some strong sexual tension between Abby Williams and Iain Brodie. Abby is likeable, sassy, feisty and so compassionate, funny but often clueless and when she is nervous she talks non-stop. She often acts first and then thinks it out later. Iain is tall, dark, handsome, powerful and dangerous. Abby tells him that she thinks of him as "Superman". He is former SAS and is currently a mercenary. They meet in the first chapter and he is the strong and silent alpha hunk. Readers will find out that he is so much more as the story progresses. And at the end, oh my, he was so charming and funny. "You think I can't say 'I love you". You think my mouth will blow up". Elise, you do know how to write those alpha males. The plot is well thought out, filled with twists and turns and laugh out loud humor. Elise takes the reader from Africa, to Eastern Europe, England and New York and never slows down. This book is fun, often hilarious, and over the top with action and world wide intrigue. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down! If you are looking for romance, intrigue, danger and humor, then this would be perfect reading.

Do not buy this book thinking it will be a fun romantic read, it was more violent than the latest Clive Cussler. I particularily hated the graphic violence towards animals at the end of the book. Will not be buying any more of her books in the future, which is a shame her other books are good.

This is one of the sickest books I have read - should be labeled pornographic also.
