About the Author

Bernie Lubbers is The Whiskey Professor for Beam Global Spirits and Wine. Before becoming a Whiskey Professor Bernie was a comedian of 25 years and knows how to tell a story. To become a professor he learned the intricacies of the bourbon-making process from milling, to cooking, mashing, distilling, barreling, even rolling barrels in the rack house. Much taught first hand from Fred Noe himself. With his status and respect in the industry, Bernie is regularly featured and quoted in publications like Malt Advocate, Whisky Magazine, Bourbon Review, Drinks International, and online resources like Liquor.com. He was named Global Whiskey Ambassador of the Year, 2009 by Whisky Magazine. Bernie lives in Clermont, KY.
