Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
I have heard the expression racing through a year, but in a literal sense that is just what Bow-Wow is doing here. He starts off the New Year with a toot and runs into the cold and snows of January. (The book is clearly targeted to areas where these seasonal changes occur). March brings wind, and April showers lead of course to May flowers. (I am not sure Bow-Wow's effort at a watering will be good for the plant!) The romp continues with leaves falling in September, a turkey wishbone snatched in November, and a big red bow and more snow in December. The old man who tooted at the beginning is now replaced by a baby tooting in the New Year. This is a clever and amusing way to present the months and what may be memorable and significant about each of them. This is a companion book to Bow-Wow's Colorful Life. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
