Box Car Racer [Explicit Lyrics]

All Music Guide - Brian O'Neill
If anyone ever got the feeling that, in spite of its success, blink-182 has strayed much farther from its roots than the band ever expected possible and possibly ever wanted, one listen to the eponymous disc from the side project of members Travis Barker and Thomas DeLonge would provide even more evidence. Box Car Racer removes the tongue-in-butt-cheek juvenility of the multi-platinum pop stars, and what remains could fit in perfectly alongside any of the emo output on indie labels such as Jade Tree. While blink-182 is known for providing poppy punk, this is as different as Bad Religion is to the band, just in the opposite direction, but the main divergence is lyrics that...

While blink-182 is known for providing poppy punk, this is as different as Bad Religion is to the band, just in the opposite direction, but the main divergence is lyrics that are retrospective and thoughtful -- witness "Watch the World," which could fit on a Dashboard Confessional record, with a libretto that boarders on poetry. This is a far cry from the party-boy ethos DeLonge is best known for, and he wears the emotional depth well, with songs that are just as hooky as from his bread-winning main squeeze.

    great cd...GREAT!

this is wonderful cd. much like blink-182 but much more mature (excluding their self-titled album). this is so great. my favorites are "cat like theif" with jordan pundik (a slow song), "tiny voices", "the end with you" (what the f!@#???!!) ,and "elevator" with blink-182's mark hoppus. a great album. please buy it.

    kudos!!!

This album is awesome. every song is amazing and well thought out. i do not believe that the song "watch the world" would fit into a dashboard confessional album. thats just stupid. boxcar racer is lightyears better then dashboard will ever be. great album guys.

    THIS CD ROX!!!!

This CD is the best. My favorite song is "There Is" even though EVERY song is good. Basically, this album is like the serious Blink 182. It even has Mark from Blink in a song. My message to u is... GET THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!

    A listener

Boxcar Racer is one of the best cd's out right now. People can really relate to their lyrics. They're a lot like Blink, but seem to be a little more serious. Some of the best songs on the disc are I Feel So, Watch The World, And I, Letters To God, Sorrow, There Is, The End With You, and Instrumental, even though they're all really really good.

    BOXCAR RACER

Boxcar Racer is a side project by blink guitarist Tom Delonge and drummer Travis Barker. People are not taking this seriously because of all the vulgar and child related jokes with Blink. Take this seriously!!!! I have heard I Fell So, All Systems Go, and my favorite so far, Tiny Voices. This isn't going to be radio freindly but it is good music. Expand your mind from MTV and the radio, look beyond, far beyond!!!!!

    Awesome!!!!!

''Box Car Racer'' although a side project is better than any of the blink 182 CDs. The songs are extremely sensitive to the human nature and show the brutallity of real life. The album has thirteen songs, thousands of lyrics and one message: Life sucks, then it tricks you into thinking it doesn't and then you die. Incredible.
