    Highly Recommended

Josh Lanyon and Sarah Black are two diverse writers who perfectly compliment each other in this new series of books, the 'Partners in Crime' series. In their first offering, 'Boy Meets Body,' we are treated to two distinct stories with two common themes: murder and romance. The novellas are of a perfect length to be enjoyed in one sitting, if so inclined or savored over several nights, my preference. Each story in their own unique way, deliver that page-turning suspense and man love romance that I so crave. I highly recommend both stories, eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series. *** Josh writes a quick-paced story with his own unique style of humor, filling the story with colorful characters that all seem to have their own little secrets. He likes to throw us these little bits and pieces of the puzzle, but I don't even bother trying to figure it out. I just hang on tight and enjoy the ride. I found one plot twist not only surprising, but quite amusing when Tim has a 'face to face' with one of his suspects. Tim's a delightfully headstrong character! With a defiant attitude he stubbornly continues with his research, despite the risk to his personal safety 'in more ways than one'. Jack is immediately likable with his charming dimple and laid-back attitude, clearly still attracted to Tim, both emotionally and physically. But there's something holding Jack back, something more than the 'I don't want a serious relationship' attitude. As the plot thickens and the list of suspects multiply, the tension builds between Jack and Tim, creating a mystery within the mystery. Once they overcome their misunderstandings, their reunion is beautifully written, sensual and tender, as you would expect from two people that love each other. *** Sarah writes in a down-to-earth style, rich in the details of the landscape and the sights and smells of hotel life, creating a family-like cast of characters. The conflict between Peter and Sebastian as they struggled to renew their love kept my heart fully involved, while the mystery and suspense kept me turning page after page. I would have to say of all the characters Sarah's Sebastian was the most fascinating. Sebastian's a man hardened by his environment, but still capable of compassion and tenderness as a lover, with a sympathetic understanding of Peter's infidelity. As the reader, I became fully immersed in the story like I was a hotel guest myself watching the characters interact and the story unfold. Although this character driven story reflects a pensive mood, Sarah surprises us with a few laugh-out-loud moments: like Jesse and Phillip's matching pajamas! I just wished Sarah would have included some of Peter's Recipes. *grins*
