My son and I were so excited about trying this buil-your-own-robot kit. He'd received it for Christmas. It was packaged nicely and the book is fun too look it. The cardboard parts seemed pretty durable, that is until we began to try to build one. The concept is awesome, but the "keys" enclosed to fasten pieces together are just not strong enough. (They should be made out of a strong plastic) My young son definitely couldn't do it, and sadly my 42 year old self (who works well with my hands) found it difficult. And some of the spaces where one needs to fit a key is too small for anything other than a child size hand, but that child would be too young to manage the coordination. Now if a teenager or adult approached this carefully with the patience of building a serious model, then they could achieve it, but if your child wants to mix em and "mash em up" it's definitely not worth the effort. I think were going to glue a few together then enjoy one big robot smash.

We find this craft toy/game book very, very frustrating. The enclosed red and blue keys are not strong enough to hold the pieces of the robots together, making it impossible to build the robots. We were very disappointed and my 10 years old grandson, my son and my self were unable to build one complete robot. The idea, the concept of this toy/game is terrific, however being able to execute the robot building and complete flop. The cardboard of the robot is to strong for the weak keys that are supposed to hold it together. Sorry, very disappointed in this product.
