Overview

Fifteen year-old Megan Barnett and her single mom, Suze, have a special relationship—they are friends, close friends, who do almost everything together.

“But come on, guys, she’s my mother… Can I really tell her that while we’re snuggled up on the sofa watching Spider Man Three, I’m secretly undressing James Franco with my eyes? Of course not…”

The special bond takes a turn for the worse when Suze decides to start dating again. She hasn’t had a man in her life since Megan’s father left ten years ago.

Enter two mysterious young men, Megan’s new classmate, sinfully attractive bad boy, Guy Matson, and the dangerously handsome art dealer, Armando. Before long Megan and Suze both wind up in steamy relationships. But neither of the handsome pair is quite what he seems. In fact, one of them is Satan, with his sights set on a new bride. Megan has precious little time to figure out how to stop him. If she doesn’t, either Megan or Suze are quite literally going to HELL.

"Boyfriend From Hell" is the first book in the Falling Angels Saga from the author of the gruesomely hilarious, "Never Slow Dance With A Zombie."

Editorial Reviews

My Neurotic Book Affair - Shari Bergquist
“E. Van Lowe puts a fantastic new spin on the young adult paranormal romance and I for one fell for it hook, line, and sinker.”
Lalaine's Fiction Book Reviews - Lalaine Faye
“A thrilling suspense/mystery/fantasy book mixed with reality and some romance scenes that will get you hooked up till the end.”
Pretty Opinionated - Nicole Etolen
“I always enjoy a fun paranormal YA read, and 'Boyfriend From Hell' by E. Van Lowe certainly came through on both the fun and the paranormal.”
Cold Moon Violet Books - Lisa Choboter
“'Boyfriend From Hell' was a great surprise. I didn't know what to expect before reading it but it was a fast and fun read that made me laugh more than once. What made Boyfriend from Hell unique to me was the sometimes tongue-in-cheek tone it had. It's a great YA that's also poking fun at some of the predictable Young Adult clichés. If you like paranormal YA but sometimes find yourself rolling your eyes at the way the characters are acting, you'll love this book too.”
Fishmuffins of Doom - Elizabeth Talbott
"E. Van Lowe's fluid and masterful writing made this book one that I needed to finish."

    A bad taste

The protagonist is an insecure whiny little airhead who clings to her mother and embarrasses herself with her desperation for a boyfriend. The characters are flat and transparent at best, and coupled with the worn out plot makes for dull read. The sheer pettiness of the protagonist has left a bad taste in my mouth, so much so that I am deleting this book from my nook.

    4 nd a half stars

Honestly this book was very good..it was super funny, exciting with just enough mystery to keep u reeling. I only took a half star off bc at times i would skip things that to me werent needed to be explained so much. I would definately recommend this book to friends. I would also read it again.

    Big Disappointment!

I hoped this would be a really great book, sadly it is not! It is about a girl fighting the devil. Her "boyfriend" is hardly even a part of the story. It is over 1,000 pgs and I sifted through more than 500 of them just to read the major parts. What a waste! So glad I got it on sale, I will NOT be getting the others! The best thing about this book is the cover!

Megan has a creepy feeling about her mother's new boyfriend, Arm

Megan has a creepy feeling about her mother's new boyfriend, Armando.  But then there's also the new boy at school, Guy.  Megan is right to have that creepy feeling - they're both not quite what that seem at first.  Megan's quest to uncover the bad guy underneath is very inventive and interesting, but some of the characters that were helping weren't.  The story had tons and tons of potential and didn't quite make it where I thought it was going to go.  There is a little twist or two at the end that helped make up for it though.

Boyfriend From Hell was a fun read! It does feature a little dar

Boyfriend From Hell was a fun read! It does feature a little darkness...Satan does make an appearance, after all. ;) But I enjoyed the story and getting to know all the characters.

Megan Barnett has a pretty sweet life. She has an awesome mom, great best friends, and a hot new guy just joined her mathlete team. But things begin to change the day her mom decides she'd like to have a boyfriend. Wait. What? Megan doesn't even have a boyfriend.

So, as Megan's mom, Suze, embarks on her quest to get a date, Megan has to deal with her feelings about this. Particularly once she becomes suspicious of the man wanting to date her mom. Suze thinks he's great, but Megan thinks he just might be from Hell.

I found Boyfriend From Hell very engaging, well written, with nicely developed characters. It was very engaging with its realistic portrayal of teenage life with art and the supernatural woven in. I liked how Megan grew over the course of the book. She realizes what's important and I appreciated that. I also enjoyed the snarky humor. The friendships in the story were well defined too. Y'all know I love a great supporting cast and this book has one! I LOVED Matt! I know...but I did.

The mystery also kept me engaged. Overall, this was a very entertaining YA book.

    ....?

This book is dumb the plot sounded good bt her execution of that plot was disappointing the characters felt flat i didnt know anything reallu about them i just knew each one had a history their personalities were dry every time the main character talked about Guy i rolled my eyes their relationship was pathetic and i didnt get any feeling from their relationship besides the main character's need to be kisse she sounded more than desperate she and Guy i knew not one thing about him that was personal until the end and even that i had already knew Guy was nfot important at all he didnt do anythig they never went out and did things that evolve a relationship the main charcter was a drama queen to the max and every time i heard the other characters insist she wasnt it felt like the author was trying to convince us the main character wasnt Armando was pretty good his character was pretty well done until the whole half horse half man body showed up and i nearly laughed my head off it was so stupid this book over all i could not stand it.
