A great piece of history by one who survived the ravages of world war two in Belgium. I will encourage my sons and grandsons to read this book
this book and draw from it the courage it took back in those days to hold a family and friends together. Yes, there were laughs and tears
but most of all, an undying faith in what the future might hold in store for them. There is also a lesson there inculcated that we might
draw from history and not allow the complacency that exists in the world today.
Well done Joseph DePrest. I am looking forward to the sequel.

This book is written in such a way that I really felt that I was back in time living the experience myself. At times I sobbed with empathy. At times I laughed but all of the time it was very difficult to put the book down. This is a real life story of what can at times bring a family together but also what can tear at the seams of one. Destin to be a best seller I feel privilaged to have been one of the first to have experienced this great read..Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I read this story before it was published. I enjoyed it so much I could hardly put it down. There were parts which were so funny, it created a good belly laugh. Then there were parts which were so sad and disturbing. I would like to read it again as there was so much to it. I also encouraged the author to have it published so more people could enjoy it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
