    Beautifully Performed Brahms

Brahms' intimate Liebeslieder Waltzes are a too-little heard area of
the composer's output, although some of the individual selections may be
familiar as they somtimes appear on choral music programs. They are usually performed by a quartet of soloists but, as intimated above can also be done by a chamber chorus, as in the present release. Robert Shaw leads his Festival Singers with all the love and care needed to keep one hooked on these miniature gems. A welcome release that de-
serves to be heard and enjoyed.
