Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
It is an exciting day in Metropolis because a new computer will begin to control everything—trains, traffic lights, water and power. Superman and his friends are there and Superman has the honor of throwing the switch—but wait! Something has gone awry. Mr. Freeze decides to freeze the computer and that causes havoc and creates some dangerous situations. Superman and his friends are busy rescuing people on speeding trains and helping to keep the traffic flowing. Then they take on Mr. Freeze. It isn't easy—Batman's feet get frozen so he needs help from Superman who also manages to short circuit Mr. Freeze's ice cannon and to thaw out the computer. All ends well. The cartoony characters don't really look like the Superman seen in other comics and books—he appears to be more muscle-bound and blocky. The same with the other characters. A level 2 book in the "Step into Reading" series that may appeal to diehard fans. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
