Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Laura Pastuszek
Don Hahn exquisitely explains how his global thinking makes for a literal brain storm. He ingeniously uses modern-day life examples as well as wisdom from the ancients of old to illustrate his points. Numerous quotes from famous people, references to artists, as well as stories from his own life through the mundane and the exhilarating, have deeply impacted Hahn. The book is a conglomeration of his specific stories from childhood through his adult life, and influences from school teachers, the medical community, historians, philosophers, other cultures, inventors, fellow colleagues and presidents. Each chapter embodies the essentials for a "brainstorm" of creativity to flourish. Page after page contains information from every corner of the world that has shaped this amazing producer's creative abilities. He uniquely and thoroughly conveys to readers how the creative process is fueled by referencing a computerized toilet in Japan, Halloween in Hollywood, and spiritual connections, just to name a few. Hahn weaves in practical life principles that are paramount to developing creativity in every human being regardless of whether they deem themselves as creative or not. Seeing this process unfold through Hahn's eyes will inspire any teen, adult, student or teacher desire to appreciate new experiences, and provide the necessary tools to reach greater depths of creativity.
