Children's LiteratureWhat is a brain and how does it work? This book covers the basics of what your brain does, where the brain is in your body, what it looks like, how it works, how messages are sent to your brain, muscle control, balance, thinking, senses, learning, memory, emotion, sleep, dreaming, taking care of your brain, and how to play memory games. Each double-page spread explores a different aspect of the brain. The page design uses colorful bubbles, rectangles, and swirls to highlight the photos and the text. The words are straightforward and clear, with a few short sentences per page. The words in bold can be found in the index at the back of the book. Little bubbles highlight additional information in smaller type. At the back of the book is a glossary and a section called facts and figures. "The Body Series" by Chrysalis Education includes the titles, Brain, Heart, Lungs, and Muscles. 2005, Chrysalis Education, Ages 3 to 6.
