I have read very few stories that I would call captivating. Keary Taylor's Branded is one that I have no hesitation of laying the term on. When I first stumbled across the book, the synopsis intrigued me. Angels - but not like every one pictures them. I decided to take a peak. From page one, I was hooked. I couldn't stop reading. I read almost three quarters of the book before my aching, bloodshot eyes demanded I stop. You won't find another plot like this one. Whether you've read every angel story out there or none at all, this one should enthrall you. As I read, I felt for Jessica (our main character). Her plight, her loneliness, the insane torture she goes through every time she sleeps. And then things got more complicated with the addition of a few new characters. While this book does have a few typos, I think Keary Taylor's powerful writing, knack of description and wonderful characters will allow you to look past those minor errors. I know I skipped right over them! Personally, I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series.

The refreshing quality in the storyline surpassed any Angel stereotype I've read so far. Jessica, the main character, was an empowering, strong-willed figure who had high tolerance for difficult situations. Every night she dreamed about vengeful angels who decided her fate on wrongful crimes. The punishment for her "crimes" were either to brand and condemn her to hell or send her above. The whole visualization of the trial was creepy and scary. The initial fear that Jessica exuded was heart-wrenching and doleful. I definitely respected Jessica for having the strength to deal with the daily nightmares that followed her into reality. After being branded, she would wake up with the burning mark of an X on her neck and angel wing carvings on her back. It was truly fascinating to see how the nightmares lurked with her everywhere she went.
Now, this book was definitely not all about pain and anguish. I did meet a charming, good-looking, swoon worthy guy who swept Jessica off her feet. Alex, was the perfect example of a sweet, bad boy that fit the description of my perfect guy. The way he treated Jessica was full of true, unconditional love. He was the one person in Jessica's life who kept her safe and grounded. Throughout the novel, Keary does a wonderful job of keeping the mystery behind Jessica's trials. I didn't fully understand the scenario until answers slowly unraveled. The twists were intriguing yet a little predictable at times. Overall, Keary is an indie author whose talent has the ability to move her readers. The characters and organized plot were well-executed. I am surprised that such creativity hasn't been scooped up by a big publisher yet. I truly cannot wait to see what Keary has in store for us next!

Out of 1-5, I would give this book a 1, becuase I thought it was going to be a good book. It was not. This book is definently for hopeless romantics, what with all the "I love this man more than I will ever love anyone" nonsense and how everyone was trying to get the main woman to with be them. To me,this book was silly unless you happen to like these type of books, then this is the book for you. I definently will not be purhasing and reading the second book, for, it will no doubt, be as bad as the first one.

The principle was FANTASTIC. I loved the trial of angels; I loved that she was sucked into the dreams; all of that, I loved.
But once you look outside of that - even to the rest of the plot - it just didn't seem as well thought out as it could have been. Her family is brought up multiple times, but they don't really have any connection with the plot. Alex is your typical sexy, understanding, practically-no-flaws-besides-being-human main character. Jessica was a flat character who never really developed. You heard her htoughts, and she stated what she felt, but it never hit home with me.
To be honest, Sal was the only intriguing character.
And the writing leaves much to be desired. There's so much description. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE description. But I don't need to know how Alex sets the table, or hear him described fifty times, or read how Cole is nearly perfect six different ways. I get it. (Again, I feel like Stephenie Meyer is influencing the way people write, and she needs to stop. Even some phrases were similar, and let's face it - Meyer isn't exactly known for subtle description.)
I'm sad, because there's so much potential. But it's not there yet.

I been looking for a book I really could not forget. After 50 shades I didn't think I would find it because in the last month I read 29 books and this one makes 30... It was totally worth the wait to finally find something better than all the other books. Thank you for this truly amazing story can't wait to read the rest AFTER I reread this one ;-) super excited.

This book sucks. The story is sooooooo slow. Characters are not well developed. I kept on waiting of the good part the others said, there was none. What a waste of time and money.

At first I was intrigued by this book and uniqueness of both the premise and the voice of the main character. But as the book went along, I became less enthused. The book is rather depressing, making it no fun to read if you are looking for escape. Additionally, the relationship between the two main characters just makes no sense. You have no idea why these two are together. It feel very forced. No a favorite of mine.

Did you even read the book. This book showed that no matter what someone has wrong with them if that person loves you like Alex loved Jessica then it doesn't matter. He loved her even though she had scars. Cole had an obsession that was only one where they would never get the persom they wanted.

I loved this book! It's so good. Started a little slow, for me, but the pace picked up quickly. Could not put it down. Read all four (including Afterlife, the companion to Vindicated) in less than two days. The only down side is that there are nit more books!

It's really hard to stay focused on the book. It sounds like a 15 year old girl wrote the book. The idea behind the book is interesting, but the writing technique is so poor I just could not continue reading the book after the typical sappiness kicked in.

The best book I have read in a while. Highly recommend to everyone. Keary Taylor created a beautiful story that can capture anyone. I loved everyhing about this story, expecially Sal, she is my favorite character. This book was just beautifully writen. You will love it even if you don't really like fantasy.

I loved this book. A refreshing take on what it is to be an angel - or to be used by angels.

I was drawn in within the first 10 pages and I love this story line and the unique concept behind the angels this made me thoroughly enjoy this book and also made me purchase the other 2 in this series the moment I fished the first book ..I enjoy the details involved it made me think outside the typical boundaries of what society deems a ~Angel~ is or should be ..many kudos and I am thrilled and excited to continue reading her works ..
