Overview

Book 7 in the Nature of Desire series.

Chloe has always been a creature of joy and laughter. Since a brutal attack nearly a year ago, the trauma she experienced has gotten worse. She has started hiding from her life, even putting up walls between herself and those she cares about most. During a panic attack one night, she impulsively calls a number that she's had for many months. Chloe met Brendan at her boss's wedding. With confidence and seduction, he easily steps into the role of helping her manage her fear. By the end of the long call, they've indulged in some serious flirtation and mind-blowing phone sex-and she's feeling things she's buried for too long.

The problem is that Brendan is the perfect male submissive-and Chloe isn't wired for the D/s lifestyle. While their attraction is undeniable, Chloe doesn't know if she can be everything Brendan needs. As a submissive, Brendan would never ask her to be something she's not-even if it will break both of their hearts to turn away from how they feel about each other.

Not My Fav', Still a Great Book

Although this wasn't my favorite in the series (so far, my fav's would be: Natural Law, Mirror of My Soul/Ice Queen, and Rough Canvas), the depth and scope of the writing is leaps and bounds over so much of the erotic romance out there. I'd give it four stars for a Joey W. Hill, but it's a 5+ anywhere else.

If you're interested in the psychological aspects of BDSM, if you like many-layered characters and lots of romance, if you want to read about a freakin' dream man, if you understand that erotic romance and erotica are not the same things (although they overlap), then I think you'd enjoy this book.

Emotional sensual read.. We met Brendan and Chloe in previous books of the Nature of Desire series, and I'm so glad they got a book of their own. An incident in Chloe's past has caused her to become withdrawn, and one night she reaches out to Brendan as a lifeline and their story begins. These two have so much going for them but at times it seems they are both overthinking their relationship. While they do eventually get their happy ending, their story along the way is oh so good. Joey takes us into the D/s world in a very appealing and tantalizing way. If you have never read any of her books, I highly recommend that you do. The next book in this series, "Divine Solace" releases March 21, 2014.

I just finished this book a few months ago and found it to be a wonderfully refreshing love story. The innocence of the heroin mixed with the genuine kindness and compassion of the hero made for a wonderful read. This book comes with my highest recommendation!!!

This book pretty much ties up any loose ends.

I recently completed this series and found all but one of the books (Mistress of Redemption) quite enjoyable. It was not the type of scenario I care for and I really didn't think it belonged with the others. The books are an easy read and kept my attention.

    Definitely worth a read

This series keeps adding twists and turns here and there to keep you interested so it's not just bdsm - though nothing wrong with that either. You just get to care about the characters and want to see it work out. The way characters from earlier books are interwoven remains one of the draws but doesn't detract from the story at all. Enjoy
