    I Also Recommend:

Timeless - My first grappling book!

I started training No-Gi Brazilian Jiujitsu in 2004. This was the first book that I bought to help improve my game. Youtube had not even been created yet and there were very few books out there. I studied this book religiously and was able to immediately incorporate a lot of the techniques into my game. The pictures are big and the instruction is very clear. Although BJJ and submission grappling has exploded outside of Brazil (and Japan) and many new flashy no-gi techniques are floating around this book will be a tool to help you build a solid foundation that will make your grappling game a nuisance for anyone who happens to match up with you. I believe it has something to offer to everyone but I would definitely recommend it to beginners and intermediate practitioners. A great resource!

I've been doing no-gi grappling on and off for the past two years and when I recently decided to increase the intentsity of my training, I wanted a guide to help me learn new techniques. This book is absolutely amazing in my opinion. It is not necessarily for the absolute beginner (the person who has never had any training) but for anyone with a very small amount of training in basic sweeps, escapes, and positioning, this book provides well over 150 techniques including takedowns, groundwork, and drills.

If you grapple, you need this book!

Royler Gracie is one of the best submission grapplers the world has ever seen. In this book he addresses many of the technical issues that differentiate no-gi submission wrestling from typical jiu-jitsu and judo groundwork. Widely considered one of the most technical grapplers on the planet, Royler has even defeated Jean-Jacques Machado, who recently released his excellent book 'Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Black Belt Techniques'. After a dozen years of grappling with and without a gi and placing in a number of submission grappling tournaments, I still found many great tips and techniques I was not familiar with in this text.
