Overview

Only one man and one woman can stop the world from burning in this thrilling final volume in Lisa Marie Rice’s sexy Ghost Ops series, in which an elite super-secret military team must face down doomsday and protect the gifted women they love.

Haven, a community of misfits and geniuses, is one of the few safe places remaining in a world on fire. Run by the Ghost Ops team, three dangerous, fearless, soldiers who were once betrayed and disgraced will fiercely protect their country and the women they adore from a deadly plague that has turned people into violent monsters.

Beautiful brilliant Dr. Sophie Daniels is trapped in her home with the only antidote to the plague. Former Ghost Ops elite operative Jon Ryan is sent on a suicide rescue mission, brutally fighting his way to her side. Together they must cross treacherous terrain before they can return to Haven. But for them to succeed, Sophie must trust this tormented soul and place her life, and her heart, in his hands.

Years of combat training has prepared Jon for this moment. Unafraid, nothing is too dangerous now that he’s found Sophie. He will risk everything, fight anyone, for her and a future filled with hope and love.

“Rice’s villain becomes the hero in a story that has complex and multilayered characters who are at times ruthless, noble, strong and vulnerable… the core of the story — the relationship between Drake and Grace — shines.”

What could possibly be more thrilling than a zombie novel? A zombie novel with a healthy dose of sex. California is plunged into chaos when an unnatural disaster strikes—Arka Pharmaceuticals has unleashed a deadly virus that's turned most of the state's population into rabid, brainwashed cannibals. Jon Ryan is one of the elite Ghost Ops team, sent to rescue Sophie Daniels, the brilliant young scientist who is trapped in her apartment with the only known vaccine. The two hit it off immediately (yes, immediately), finding love and solace in each other's company while the world crashes down around them. While some of the novel's description is prone to exaggeration (Jon is described as simultaneously unfathomably beautiful, hulking, and masculine and also otherworldly, being equated with a Nordic god multiple times in the span of a few paragraphs), but the sensational nature of the erotic scenes complements the legitimately dark mood of the situation. The book effectively blends fairly traditional romantic and erotic tropes (big, burly hero saving the beautiful scientist) with unexpected contemporary disaster, resulting in a fast-paced dystopian tale with equally intense sex scenes. VERDICT Rice (I Dream of Danger) is skilled at bringing the drama and the heat. Highly recommended for readers seeking action, of all types, and for fans of previous "Ghost Ops" installments.

Lisa Marie Rice always delivers and no exception in this third series. She writes such cool alpha men, along with strong women. Thank you Lisa! Love all your books. Excellent and talented writer. JR

Did not like that much. It needed something a little more to connect the main characters together.

I always look forward to Lisa's books, but this book was awful. Who screws some guy that just happens to fall through the door & lands on them! I felt the author looked up a bunch of big words with no substance . I felt like tjhis was a new author that didnt know how to write dialogue!!! You can do so much better than this :(

LMR redeemed herself with the 3rd book. I love that is was so much more than sex. The sex part was good, but the descriptions of the infected behavior and the science references were so much better in this sorry. And the emotions in the wring was apparent I here writing. I really enjoyed reading this one. Thanks Lisa.

I was kept enthralled by this series of books.   From Book 1 to the next book and so on.   Made me want to get right to them to the ending. Could not wait to start the next book when one ended.  The story was way beyond the normal.  I really couldn't see this happening on such a  big scale in our world.   But still keep me interested in finding out how they solved this problem.  Black OP's operation.  And corrupt officials  with to much power, and greedy for money....   It was a different kind of book then I normally read.   But I still fell in love with the main characters, and their love for their ladies.   Read it, you may very well like it.
