    Thrilling and Satisfying

    This fifth installment is the most action-packed, compelling and imaginative to date. Something is coming called the "Breaking Moon." The Full Blood werewolves are suddenly becoming more powerful, and two Full Bloods, the cockney Liam and a newly introduced female, have created an army of horribly twisted Half-Bloods and descended upon a small town in Oklahoma.

    Cole, (the male protagonist in the series), is stolen out of the federal prison system by a splinter group of Skinners intent upon investigation all the properties of the vampire tendrils that continue to encase his organs. Imprisoned in a secret Skinner facility, Cole is mercilessly tortured to discover the limitations of the tendrils' healing abilities.

    Unaware of Cole's predicament, Paige, (the main female character in the series), is concentrating on discovering and dismantling the mastermind who planned the Nymar (vampire) scheme to set up Skinners as cop killers. Unfortunately, Kawosa, legend to be the original shapeshifter, uses his mind control abilities to separate her from the one remaining free Skinner she trusts. Then, she learns about Cole, but is diverted to Oklahoma, in the company of European (gypsy) monster hunters, who are intent on investigating the Full Bloods. At that point everything explodes, including the gypsies' plane which is ripped out of the sky by the Full Blood Liam.

    The narrative features clever plot twists, full scale battles, intriguing Full blood mythology and truly imaginative supernatural creatures. This book delivers one of the best paranormal action stories I've read. I highly recommend this series and this latest book!

    A Great Read

    If you're a fan of the Skinners series then this book is just like the rest. It's a great read and it's got a great story. What's not so great however, is the editing. I don't know what happened with that but here's an example. Toward the end of the book a character "exits stage left", just to get back up again and fire a gun. With a blade sticking out of his/her head! Zombies are not in this book by the way, so yes, that was a significant error. The other thing is that the author has created such a great and multifaceted story that he seems to have trouble getting it all in. Certain things that went on in past books just never seem to get resolved. By the end of this book there are a number of things going on and we're told that there is only 1 more book left in the series. Given this author's track record, I really don't see how he's going to resolve all of the unresolved issues from previous books, plus bring all of the new developments from this book to a satisfying end in just one more book. Well, here's to hoping!
