Editorial Reviews

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Roger Vernon Dietz, BS, MS, MD (University of Kansas Medical Center)
Description: This is a comprehensive breast pathology book written by an international group of breast pathologists.
Purpose: The book strives to be complete in the sense that not only does it provide classic entity-based chapters, it also contains many specialty chapters that describe normal development, gross specimen examination, breast cancer epidemiology, etc. The result is a nice, comprehensive book.
Audience: The audience includes any practicing pathologists who sign out breast cases.
Features: The book contains two types of chapters. There are classic entity-based chapters that provide a complete overview of each entity from clinical presentation to treatment and prognosis. Then there are more didactic chapters that cover special topics, including breast cancer epidemiology, imaging modalities, immunohistochemical stains, etc. The didactic chapters round out this book with information that is not seen in many other books in this area.
Assessment: This book is a current, complete discourse on breast pathology, accomplishing its goal.
