For someone interested in learning about meditation, this is a readable and useful book. Organized in sections such as Why Meditate?, What is Meditation?, and How to Meditate, among others, it provides short pieces by a wide range of authors. It is a good way to sample the approaches and writing styles of different authors, with a view to further reading.
