I enjoyed this book but I'm really disappointed with the ending. I feel like it was REALLY rushed and was left with a few unanswered questions. There were also a lot of grammar errors.

3.5 Stars With her best friend, Jessi, by her side, Kelsey Rien hopes that by going away to college she can escape the tragic events that have followed her for the past six years. Feeling like she been irreparably broken, she didn't think she'd find someone who would breathe air back into her life. Never mind that he's a tattooed and pierced hulk of a guy who should scare her rather than attract her. But Kane Riley knows something about tragedy follow you and finds a kindred soul in Kelsey. But will Kane's past, along with Kelsey's and her inexperience be their downfall? I was with this book right up until the very end. The climax of two parts of the storyline merged together and then were rushed to conclusion. I think that did a huge disservice to the story of Kane and Kelsey. She deserved the closure that ultimately came and probably even the way it happened. However everything with Kane and the expected fallout from what happened truly needed to be included in the story. Despite the ending, I did enjoy the book up until that point. I enjoyed Kelsey learning how to let go and live, especially in the arms of Kane.

Liked this book but the ending was WAY too rushed...

I've read much better books. The characters were well developed, but the dialogue was atrocious. Not everything should be so cut and dry, people use contractions in daily conversation, I don't know how else to describe it. Grammer issues galore, and the story itself wasn't very good. Some guy randomly pulls a knife on her, her dad shows up out of no where, there were so many things going on, yet I still felt like the climax wasnt really there? Just... Not good.

This book just fell short for me. First there were the weird grammatical errors and the weirdly formal way of speaking. There were literally no contractions. Then, for the first few chapters at least, there's a slow build of mystery. All of a sudden, everyone is purging all their secrets and the book is only halfway through. Which of course means there's going to drama. There's a weird love triangle, a 'misunderstanding' that, as you were reading it, couldn't really be misinterpreted, and a climax that was just too rushed and unbelievable. There were a number of situations that could have been easily cleared up with a simple 4 second conversation that ended up getting drawn out unnecessarily. All in all, I just wasn't wowed.

This story of Kelsey finding herself again was truly amazing. I found myself not being able to put this book down. How i do agree with others that the ending could have been more, it truly was a great story and would love to read more of the characters.

We meet Kelsey as she & her best friend Jessi are moving into their college dorm room. We know that six years prior Kelsey suffered a tragic loss & withdrew from everyone. Due a large part to that, Jessi is her only friend. While out for lunch one day Jessi gets asked out on a date. Kelsey notices one of his friends & cannot stop thinking about him. She ends up running into Kane several times after that day. This is the first time in a long time that she’s had any sort of feelings for anyone. She feels comfortable with him immediately & knows that she shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. They both open up to each other about their parents. Someone from Kelsey’s past resurfaces & almost costs her everything. I enjoyed this book a great deal. I think Amanda did a great job on her debut novel & I look forward to reading her future work.

Typical college girl, Kelsey, running away from home and "bad" memories, meets a 'hottie', Kane. Story does get interesting. Quick romantic read. LOVETOREAD
