Breathe Finding Freedom to Thrive in Relationships after Childhood Sexual Abuse

I wanted to share with you what an impact Breathe made upon my life. I learned of the book Breathe through a Christian podcast. After hearing Nicole speak on the podcast, I knew it was time to share my story of abuse with my husband. This was 4 months ago. We have both read Nicole's new book Breathe and found it to be incredibly helpful. Each chapter is short and to the point. It allowed us to reflect on what healing needed to take place. It also allowed my husband to understand how I could have "kept" such a secret from him for so long into our marriage. He said he was helped most by Chapter 10: A Loving Spouse. He said after I told him he felt helpless, but after reading the book he felt he knew what to do. Prior to reading her book, I had written a "ghost letter" to my abuser by recommendation of my counselor. Each and every chapter touched me, and I loved how she included letters at the end of each chapter. Unfortunately, as with many sexual abuse victims I did tell but was told to HUSH. (Which by the way is Nicole's first book title) My abuse continued for 4 years, and was a family member. I still have to see this person. I thank God so much for bringing Nicole Bromley into my life. Even though I have to deal with these feelings that I have repressed and not dealt with for 28 years, I can now deal with them and be healthy. Although it is not an easy road to travel, Nicole's book has made the road to recovery hopeful.
