Overview

Learn about the culture and achievements of the Demons of the North Sea, the best adventurers, explorers, and traders of their time, featuring new content and fascinating illustrations. Brief History of the Vikings examines the evolution of the Viking people during their few centuries of existence, from the assault on the monastery of Lindisfarne to the Battle of Stamford Bridge, both of which took place on English soil. You will be captivated by the incredible stories of these tireless navigators, pirates, traders, artisans, and colonizers. Learn about even the smallest details of their culture—their expansion, their mythology, their customs, their passage through the Iberian Peninsula, and their adventures in Greenland, Normandy, and England. The book's author, Manuel Velasco, an expert on Viking history, has traveled extensively through Nordic countries to study firsthand the museums and colorful festivals that pay homage to their Viking ancestors.
