As a professional event planner who has been on the scene for years, I can say that this is the first actually useful wedding guide that is packed with fun too! Get this book!
This wasn't a boring "finding the perfect venue to dealing with the new monster-in-law" type book. This material covers the adventure filled and fun aspects of planning the special day. Great A.D.D. blurbs all over the pages and lots of color to brighten up your mood if you're feeling overwhelmed. Ms. Denny really put a lot of experience and thought into this extrememly useful tool. This book should be in the hands of every woman planning a wedding, and I know it's going to remain on my desk as a resource until Ms. Denny decides to achieve the impossible by coming out with something better in the future. It doesn't matter if you're planning your special day in Fargo, Altoona, the O.C. or NYC, this book is a must have for every bride to be!

While it has information that is helpful, some suggestions are unnecessary for regular every day brides. It's an okay read. I wish it was written more like the grooms book. Which is written completely different than this one. If you get this one, get the groom one, so you can see the contrast of what they talk about. Giving gifts is nice, but this book makes it seem like as the bride you have to buy every Tom, Dick, and Harry a thank you gift for coming to your wedding. In the grooms book it talked about issues such as pre-nups and where to get them, having sex with bridesmaid or strippers, the bachelor party, and taking your brides virginity. NONE of that is in here. There was very little talk about a bachelorette party. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
I got this book because I thought it would be a good companion for me as a general reference manual with wedding stuff. It has a lot of information I already know (from reading various things on the internet) but it does have some good illustrations on setup (for ex. the ceremony line order) and checklists. This book is really for those who don't have much wedding knowledge (like the early stages of planning), otherwise you likely already have the majority of the info in this book from your own reading/research.
PS They made a Groom's one which I completely love - it really is perfect for a guy. It's humorous and geared for the guy mind with all the diagrams and such, step by step for a new groom!
