    If you are a true artist, this book is in your library.

    I also to believe that the first person to write a review is not an artist or at least an educated one. If they had looked beyond the images (which are amazing and are lessons within themselves) they would have read the detailed, priceless information in regard to drawing from live models. This book has lead me to buy every other book published by this artist. If you READ the book as opposed to glancing at the drawings you will become a better artist due to information he provides. Thank you Pat Colin for recommending this book to me, another great artist.

    Best book on figure drawing ever assembled

    This is in my opinion the best book ever assembled in regards to anatomy/figure drawing for THE ARTIST! As oppossed to the endless 'PSEUDO-anatomy for the artist' books; Bridgman does what no other book has done before his intricate method of 'wedging', concentration of planes, prespective on figures and the most important the mechanisms of the human body. I am an aspiring comic book penciller and have read countless of 'anatomy for the artists' books and saw that they where getting me nowwhere. My figures lacked depth and the muscles looked too planar, but while reading Bridgmans book I have brought a whole new aspect/mentality to my art. So if you or anyone you know is an aspiring artist, please do yourself a favor and get this book you will not regret it.THANK GOD FOR GEORGE BRIDGMAN'S COMPLETE GUIDE TO DRAWING FROM LIFE AND THANK YOU JIM LEE FOR RECOMMENDING THIS BOOK

    Excellant

    Whoever wrote the first review of this book is a complete idiot. Anybody who has studied life drawing or who knows anything about art history would understand the brillance of this book. George Bridgeman was the leading teacher of his time, and taught many famous artist how to draw, one of whom is Norman Rockwell. There are no photographes in this book, it is a collection of scribbles and drawings Bridgeman did on his students paper. This book contains all the information and knowledge one must posess to become a draftsman. Most good and prestigous figurative artists all have copies of this book. If you want to know how to be a draftsman buy this book, if you want to be an amatuer take the first guys advice. the drawings are a bit ruff but the acuracy is excellant. Remeber it is often said that unacomplished artist and amatuers are attracted to copying photo graphs. Great artist to drawings and paintings that use less but say more. Get this book it definately want hurt your art.

    Check the return policy before you buy this book!

    I really feel that this book is a waste of my money. To start with, it contains no photos for references. The drawing in the book can only be described as sketches and they are almost completely without details. Any sketches that do have any detail look little he used a very short body builder for his model with muscles that all out of porpotion. I see no merit in buying this book and truely regret buying it. I wish they had a zero stars rating that I could use to rate this book.
