Amazed at the negative reviews from intellectual baron individuals who comment on books without reading them. If you are TRUE LIBERAL THEN BE OPENED MINDED. It is time for us to wake up and know that we the people have the control. Not the White House, Wall Street or the Business Plaza. Read this book with an open mind. You may not like all it says but I bet you will find points that you can not disagree with. Think about it...Clinton, to Bush, to Obama. Where are the great men or women in our society. Bring back our common sense. This country will make it!!! I was once left of center. However, my party has left me. Read before you comment. Right or Left! Great book Glenn.

This is a place to review a book...not your political opinions. Go start a blog or bore a relative. Now about the book...I found it to be a mix of serious research and thought, passion, a bit of hyperbole, and, if Beck is correct in his assumptions about the progressive agenda...one scary book. I'm not quite ready to accept the sum total of his positions but have to admit, he makes some very good arguments that need to be considered further.

I'm really enjoying this! I bothers me when people write a negative review when they haven't read this just because they hate Glenn Beck. He details what's happened in history and how we are headed in that direction at full speed.

Glenn has done the work all our teachers did not do. He gives us a history of our nation showing how we arrived at the point we find ourselves now. How decisions(good and bad) were made.
I am ashamed to know how very little I actually knew.
I was one of the people who voted for the "change and hope"that was promised in the last election. Had I actually known that the "fundamental change" was to replace my Republic with a Progressive,
or Socialistic doctrine I would not have voted for the currect regime in office.
Knowledge is the best weapon that can be used against those who would
destroy our nation.

And I for one am not jealous of your wealth. You have reaped the rewards of living in a country where you can still speak your mind and put your words to paper and let people know they are not alone in their beliefs. Great book

The negative reviews of this book just say that they don't like the author, but give little indication that they have actually read the book. Whether or not you like the messenger, the message is vitally important, well-researched, and understandable for anyone who makes an honest effort. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand how to keep America from flushing itself down the toilet. My main criticism is of the Nook version. The book is full of charts and images that have text in them. Since you cannot zoom in on or enlarge images on the Nook, the text in them is unreadable on the Nook itself. I also downloaded onto my computer the B&B EReader and Nook Study, both of which are free. The small print in the images are readable only in Nook Study.

I'm enjoying the book BUT it is annoying that some of the pages cannot be read in digital format. The pages that are decorated and have some words in the center cannot be read - changing the size of the font doesn't work. No zoom is possible. PLEASE check digital formats before releasing books and make sure the pages are legible.

This book exposes the true mess our country is in. But most of all contains a plan in part 3, that provides a road map to real recovery and success. You must read from start to finish in order to grasp the full picture that the author paints.

I have read every Glenn Beck book and he keeps getting better. His latest Broke is fantastic. He expresses how the liberal policies have bankrupt our country.

Great book: provides a solid source of misinformation, half-truths, and distortions. I love turning my brain into mud. Beck tells great stories but must have mistakenly left reality behind while his writers published him a new book.

If Beck actually believed half of the fantasy and fabrications he spouts, he'd be committed to a looney bin. He's admitted many times publicly that he's just an entertainer. He's just laughing all the way to the bank by preying on the gullible and 'infofmationally challenged'..there's a sucker born every minute ishis credo!

Book is typical Beck, an assortment of facts collected, as they most always are, to promote a certain point of view. That's fine, I understand what he's trying to say. Unfortunately, the book has a large amount of graphic/print illustrations that you can't even read in a Nook. There's no way to enlarge them to make them viewable (like you can on most smartphones) and so you miss the point of the graphics placement. Each chapter begins with a page that has what I assume to be an important quote from someone that is placed inside a large graphic, so on the Nook, if the quote is too long, it is very small and hardly legible. In short, this book is better read in a standard format and not on a Nook.

But this book is a solid discussion of the present financial condition the United States finds itself in. We are in trouble. There is no mercy shown to either side of the political aisle. Even conservative favorite Reagan is taken to the woodshed for some of his policies.
The key message is that America is on the same path just trodden by Iceland, Ireland, Spain and Portugal. We are broke. This is serious and trouble is coming.
Beck avoids quick fix solutions but searches for immediate changes that will fix the problem over time.
The wealth of this book in in the back. It is heavily sourced and documented for your own verification and further study. No matter what you may think of the author, you should read this volume.
