Broken Before the Storm
A poignant story about overcoming extreme adversity and refusing to give in no matter the odds.
Life can be extremely cruel and unfair. We see people suffering all the time who don't deserve it and evil people get away scot-free.

When the victims of such hardship often check out on life or take more drastic measures to end their pain, such as suicide, we feel sorry for them and often don't blame them. We are left wondering what happened to people getting what they deserve.

But some people refuse to give up. Faced with a daunting amount of challenges that seem impossible to overcome, we watch with awe and admiration as they weather the storms of trial after unending trial with a calm that we might never be able to comprehend.

In this powerful story of hope, Cheurlie Pierre-Russell chronicles the tribulations of Kourtney 'Jacobie' Rouchon and how you can be inspired by her struggles with muscular dystrophy. Unlike other kids, Kourtney has had to live this reality all her life and learn not only how to just cope with it, but excel and thrive despite it.
Broken Before the Storm is an excellent book that will help you face the demons in your life with confidence

Leaving the Navy was difficult but it was time to start a family and tackle a new career.

C. Pierre-Russell graduated from Georgia State University, with her Bachelor in Arts degree in Sociology. She also earned her Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Walden University. Her desire to strive in education led her to study the development and perception of children’s lives through the influence of social context.
