Tamika Adams is a successful woman who has just about all a woman could want in life - except love. After unexpectedly meeting Quincy Thompson, she falls head over heels in love and finally gets the happily ever after she always wanted. After obtaining the happiness that she previously had no luck with, everything in her world begins to fall apart at the hands of this same man. She is forced to confront the one person she never thought would hurt her so deeply when secrets that she never saw coming are released. The instability of their relationship threatens to drive Tamika to an emotional breaking point, but she must pull it all together and consider her own future. Can she and Quincy weather their storm or will deceit prove to be too strong for them to survive? Allison Edwards' Broken Promises Never Mend is a title that takes you through all of the raw emotion that is experienced by someone who is in a love/hate relationship. I could understand how Tamika's character would in certain instances want to maintain her relationship with Qunicy, while at other points, want to forget that she ever met him. The situations depicted were realistic and extremely relatable. The author left me wanting more as I ended this title. I will definitely read the sequel to this book and would recommend it to others. 4.5 stars

I bought this for my little Nookia, but had trouble making sense of most of the novel because of the formatting issues. The switching between italics & regular type was inconsistent. Beyond that, the story was a good one. The plot was one to which MANY women these days can relate. How much is enough when it comes to the one you love? Apparently it's "Never too much" as Luther says & this novel proves! Quincy and Tameka's story is an emotional rollercoaster with twists, dips, & turns that keep you holding on until the end.

I read this book as part of a book club challenge, so this was my first time reading a book by this author. While the plot of the story was a good one, i also understand wgat some if the other reviews stated abiut many of the typos, i felt myself get fustrated and stopped reading but then i picked it back up and was done in a few hours. This story was good especially for those who may be going through it with a man, just as the character realized there are more important things that may require your attention. I felt bad in some ways for Tamika but then shhe kept putting herself in the same situations. Overall, there are some typos but once you get past that you can enjoy the story.

This was a good read and I have to tell you it was page turning. Once you get into the members in the story, you feel what they feel, you want to fight with them and make sure things work out of them. Thanks for sharing your talent with me.

After purchasing this book tried to get into the story after a few pages I gave up because there was so many typos and triple spacing I didn't want to piece the paragraphs together any longer

You can't tell people how to love you - people are going to love you the way they know how to love but you can choose how you participate in it. Tamika Adams has everything when it comes to her professional life but soon she finds out she has alot to learn when it comes to love. When she meets Quincy Thompson she is swept off her feet and immediately believes its happily ever after, but soon deep secrets and lies began to surface. Side Note: I didn't know who to strangle first - Tamika for dealing with Quincy, or Quincy for being such a D.O.G. - their "love story" had me going through some ups and downs, but I couldnt put this book down.. Excellent Job Allison
