    A Must Have

Thank You McFarland for re-issuing this wondeful book. It is a collection of 23 interviews with some famous and not so famous stars of the Silent Era. In each interview Mr. Ankerich skillfully pulls information on the stars personal and professional life. Also, in footnotes he briefly touches on the lives of other stars.

All of these stars are gone now so this makes the book far more valuable in learning how it was to work in films in the silent era. I have all of Michael Ankerich's books and they have all been excellent. Broken Silence and The Sounds of Silents are wonderful books and I highly recommend them both.
