As part of Collectables' region-specific doo wop series, Bronx Doo Wop focuses mostly on small-time vocal groups that cracked the local charts but rarely went further. The most notable exception to this distinction is the Belmonts, who had a number of hits regionally and even made a name nationally after their split with Dion. But the Belmonts, while necessary to include for a historically accurate overview of the doo wop phenomenon, are not the cream of the crop here.
