About the Author

Shawn O’Brien is a Marine Corp veteran from Philadelphia who served in Afghanistan. After returning home to Philadelphia, he began working in executive-level security. He even provided security for the Prince and Princess of Monaco when they visited Philadelphia.
After being home from the military, Shawn decided to move to Brooklyn to attend performing arts school in the city and pursue a career as an actor. Shortly after taking classes, he was able to get representation and started working in the industry.
Shawn has also done body double and stunt work along with modeling. He credits his faith for sustaining him through life’s challenging times in the Marine Corps and civilian life. While in New York, he had the pleasure of meeting many combat veterans from all branches of service.
After hearing multiple veteran accounts of people returning home from combat tours with mental health issues, he dug deeper. He found out that where some stories ended tragically, there were some with a triumphant outcome. Hence, Shawn decided to write this fiction book to inspire and entertain people while bringing awareness to the mental health issues of veterans and highlighting what life is like for someone who returns from military service.
