EVERY MAN NEEDS A BROTHER. One of the keys to a man's growth in Christ is to find men of like heart and become brothers, moving together toward the goal of Christlikeness. In this age of individualism, men are beginning to realize the importance of having brothers who will support, encourage, and hold one another accountable to a Christian model of manhood. But what does it mean to be a brother of Christ? It's more than just joining a club or attending some meetings. To be a true brother requires a degree of relational intimacy that doesn't come naturally to most men. Brothers! will help you develop the kind of relationships you need in order to be a true brother. As you work through this discussion guide with other men, you'll grow deeper in your relationships as you lean to accept one another as acquaintances, to encourage one another as friends, and to exhort one another as brothers. If you lead a men's group, this study will help you develop the skills you need to draw other men into deeper, more genuine relationships. And that can revolutionize your small group! Being a man has never been easy. But the Bible teaches that there are resources available to help us face the challenge. God has given us His Spirit, His Word, and one another so we don't have to do the job alone. Brothers! will help you draw on these resources and become a brother, a man of integrity-a true man of God!

Meet the Author

Geoff graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1968 and flew over 100 combat missions in Vietnam as a reconnaissance pilot. For his meritorious service, Geoff was awarded the Silver Star and four Distinguished Flying Crosses.

Called out of the horrors of war into the ministry of the Navigators, an international Protestant order, Geoff counseled youth for years in the US and then became the Deputy Director of the Navigators' Ministry in France where he and his family resided for 13 years. In that capacity, he also helped pioneer new ministries in French Africa and Russia. Upon his return in 1992, Geoff was "loaned" to Promise Keepers (www.PromiseKeepers.org) to help them develop their men's ministry curriculum and teach it to thousands of men and their pastors across North America and Europe.

In recent years, Geoff has become the Director of Men's Ministry for the Navigators (www.navigators.org) and has been foundational in the development of the National Coalition of Men's Ministries (NCMM), (www.ncmm.org ). As part of their executive teams, he continues to speak at men's conferences and seminars across the country.

Over the years, Geoff has written numerous articles, co-authored anthologies for men and has penned two books of his own for NavPress. The first one was based on his experiences in Vietnam entitled, On Eagles Wings. The second was one of the foundational books of the Promise Keepers movement entitled, Brothers! It helps pastors and laymen establish small groups for men.

Geoff holds a BS from the Air Force Academy, a Certification from the Sorbonne in Paris and a Masters and Doctorate in Practical Ministry from the Leadership Institute in Colorado Springs. Besides Geoff's national and international ministry, he is co-chairman of the men's ministry committee at his church and enjoys teaching a men's discipleship course there called, "The Quest for Authentic Manhood."

He now resides in Singapore with his wife, Diane.

They have two married daughters, Nicole and Julie, who reside in the US.
