Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
To celebrate 35 years of the Sesame Street franchise, Random House/Golden Books released this text, which essentially encompasses some of the best aspects and favorite characters of the actual Sesame Street show. Grover introduces the book and provides words of wisdom on how to read the book. Big Bird picks up with the "Journey to Ernie," an engaging romp to find where Ernie's hiding out in the world. This is followed by the "Letter of the Day" with Cookie Monster, a play date with Zoe and Elmo where they share what they learn about getting along and compromising with each other, and Grover traveling to Alaska in his "Global Grover" segment. Rosita enters the picture with the "Spanish Word of the Day," then turns it over to the Count who sings a song about the number 4. Elmo shares his world, and then the whole gang appears to wish young readers good-bye and to remind everyone that the book was "brought to you by the letter F and the number 4." For children who love the show, the book is a sure winner. 2004, Random House, Ages 3 to 7.
