Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Love this book!

I started reading this to my daughter shortly after she was born. I found that making the animal sounds while reading engaged her attention, even as early as only a few months. Over time she began to pick up on the sounds and make them herself. She's 20 months now and we read this book "together" - I read the words, she makes the animal sounds. Sometimes I even catch her "reading" the book alone - flipping the pages and making the sounds for each animal. I have several other Carle books and am a huge fan of all of them!

Great for younger children

This was THE first book my daughter really liked. Something about the big yet simple images on the page really drew her in. It was her favorite up to about 14 months of age. Now she is moving on, but it was the only one she liked!

A book that a child will enjoy to read over and over again.

I personally enjoyed this book as a child. The book is filled with bold colors and all sorts of animals. Its context is easy to read and understandable which helps the child follow the story and not become apathetic. Every page gives you a beautiful full size picture of an animal to look at and the intriguing feeling as to what animal will come up next. Because of the books rhythmical storyline it helps the child read along even if he or she cannot read yet. The books story is almost like a song. Not only will this book help your child follow a great story it will help them develop skills such as colors, shapes and names of animals. I would recommend this book to children of all ages especially beginners. They will enjoy this book every time.

Lovely

I started reading this book to my 16 months old sun. He sits quietly through the entire book - looking at each page. We even read it a couple times making all the animals sounds. No other book I've read to him consistently keeps his interest. A must for early readers!! And for older kids I recommend the series of "Why Some Cats are Rascals"

What an Awesome BOOK for...

...learning about animals, colors, animal sounds, and repetition of words. The book flows well and after several read alouds with your child or students, the book will be memorized. An excellent book to make as a book on tape for early readers. Check it OUT!

A reviewer

My son would have me read this book to him every night, sometimes 3 times before he would fall asleep. He had it memorized, and would fool many of our relatives who thought he was really reading it. The book is a classic for small children.

Brown Bear

Poetry Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? is a book about a big brown bear that sees many things! Rhyming is the main point of the book. This book would be great for kindergarteners. The words, ¿Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?¿ is repeated before each new object is presented in the book. The illustrations are great and contain much detail. This would be a good book to read over and over to a group of children. Bill Martin Jr. is considered ¿America¿s favorite children¿s author.¿ He wrote for almost 60 years and wrote over 300 children¿s books. Martin Jr., Bill. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Wonderful

This book is extremely good for teaching colors and animals in ESL classes. The wonderful colors are atractive as well as the animals illustrations. The use of questions and ansers are a good way of teaching full answers format. My pupils in Israel loved it and together we found wonderful ways to use it in order to learn English in a very fun way. Another book by the same author - Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do you hear? is also as wonderful due to the same reasons , but a little more dificult to ESL pupils since they are not familiar with the names of all the animals mentioned in the book.

Great book!

Highly recommended! My first grandchild loved it and anticipated the next page, which is the beginning of reading. Bought it for my next grandchild.

I'm surprised there are no ratings for this book. I'm a speech

I'm surprised there are no ratings for this book. I'm a speech language pathologist and recently starting using this book during my therapy session with preschoolers. They love it. It's an easy read and since it repeats often, its provides children with an enjoyable learning experience. I don't have to keep telling them to "say this" or "say that". I also use Polar Bear, Polar Bear What do You Hear, which is a little more advanced than Brown Bear, but still fun.

Only book that sticks out!

This book is amazing. When I was a little girl I would have to ask my mom to read it to me every night, and I eventually memorized it to the point I could recite it back to her every night. This is the only book that sticks out in my memory and I'd have to say, it is a must have for young children! I'm now 15, and I still want this book to go nook version so I can get it and keep it forever =)

AWESOME book for my 2 year old

My 2 almost 3 year old absolutely loves this book we read it hundreds of times a day. She has it memerized and can "read" it upside down and with out looking. She loves to show off how good she can "read" this book. everywhere we go she repeats the book and for everyone and if we put it in th ewrong order she quickly reminds us we have done it wrong. It is a great way to help you child learn the concept of what is coming next, colors and animals. Absolutely a great book for any little one. She is always "reading" to her older siblings because they always get to read to her now it is her turn.

Child's Favorite Book

My child LOVES this book. We "sing" it all the time! It is great for learning colors.

What a cute book

My 16 month Grandson, Matthew loves this book. He says, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear and goes and gets me this book. Too cute. I'd recommend this to everyone.

My best freind told me about this book, I purchased (3) for my grandchild,
my freiends grandchild, and my niece. All three of them loved this story.
All of these children are 4 yrs. old, so we are reading to them.. I have
purches so very good children books from you company.
The Sandwich Swap, and The Very Hungry Caterpiller. My Georgia, loves all three of these books, but, the best one so far is the Sandwich Swap,
She has a best friend in her K-3 class and they sawp lunch some times.
Another great book is Granny Bloomers.

Perfect For Little Ones

I had never been a huge fan of the Eric Carle books, but now my kids have introduced me to their view, and this book especially seems to be a keeper. My 18-month old picked this book off the shelf at our local BN and brought it to me, quoting the title...apparently she's heard it at school...and we had to bring it home. It is a wonderful book! Interesting, colorful illustrations, fun to read, and the repetitive wording makes it great for the 1-year-old crowd; we read it at least daily. I would highly recommend it to families with kids under 3, and will be scoping out other Carle books for future reading.

Colorful Brown Bear Book

This is a wonderful book to read to the smallest of children. My daughter originally got it when she was one and loved it even then. But somehow, we lost our copy, and now that she is almost two and is interested in colors, I thought I should pick up another one. I'm sure glad I did! She loved it all over again! I had to read it many times in a row, so luckily it is a quick and easy read. She loves the colorful animals on each page, and the repetition holds her attention. This book is also great for teaching about colors in an informal way, and also about teaching the names of different animals. We love the colorfulness and the simplicity of this book. Definitely think it is a valuable addition to any child's library.

Repetition and Catchy Verse make this book a keeper! It's Excellent.

Your children will love "reading" this book with you. We love looking at the pictures together and guessing which animal is going to be next. It's a great way to teach your children animals, sounds, and colors. It also helps with memorizing things. It's a cute book to read out loud and isn't boring even after the 20th time. I like how all the animals are on the last page together as a sort of review. Your kids will love it!

Fun to read

Fast and Fun

Great for toddlers

This is a great book. We enjoy the multiple stages of learning. First our daughter learned colors and sounds. Now she is learning animals. It is awesome. We read it at least twice a day.
