Bruin is the story of two sons of a very rich St. Petersburg, Russia, Baron. He assigns them the task of venturing forth upon the world and bringing back the skin of every known black and brown bear. They can travel north and south as much as they like, but, once they start out, whether east or west, they must continue in that direction until they return home. Of course, a complete retinue of servants accompany them, yet they still manage to put themselves in harm's way, coming close to losing their lives a number of times.
