The right composition gives your images impact and emotion; the wrong one leaves them flat. In this handy, take-anywhere guide, renowned photographer, instructor, and bestselling author Bryan Peterson frees amateur photographers from the prejudices of what is “beautiful” or “ugly” so that they can instead focus on color, line, light, and pattern. With this guide in your camera bag, you’ll be equipped not only to “see” beautiful images but to successfully shoot them each and every time.

This is my 6th Bryan Peterson book. His writing style is very easy to understand, and is a very easy read, as he has a very fun (and funny) personality. Bryan's books are always filled with easy to understand instructions and assignments that will help you understand whatever it is he is teaching you (aperture, shutter speed, shooting on manual, etc.). For a quick reference while out and about, this book, along with his "Understanding Photography Field Guide" will help you improve your photography beyond what you thought capable. The 2 books encompass most of what is in his other books (which I would also advise you to read). And, although expensive, I would also highly recommend one of Bryan's photo workshops if you ever get the chance. I did one in New York City and came away with some wonderful photographs.
