"Bubba. Every harbor has one. No matter how humble our hulls, Bubba is the boater who allows the rest of us to feel like yachtsmen."
—Bob Hite, anchor, News Channel Eight, Tampa, FL

"Once in a while you run into a sailor who marches to the beat of a different drummer." So begins the story of Bubba Whartz, Florida's most famous solo sailor and legendary live-aboard. Whether he is on an impromptu diplomatic mission to Cuba or crashing the yacht-club buffet, Bubba's adventures on and off his grimy ferro-cement sloop, Right Guard, will delight sailors and landlubbers alike.
