Overview

THIS BOOK HAS BEEN REFORMATTED TO FIT THE NOOK BETTER.
Children learn fun visualization techniques as they imagine filling and relaxing their bodies with the colors of the rainbow. A sea child and turtle take children on a bubble ride into the world of relaxation. Visualization, also known as creative imagery, can lower stress and anxiety levels. Visualizing is the ability to form a mental image of, or use your imagination. This technique can have a positive impact on your child’s overall health, creativity and performance. Creative imagery is also used to help patients heal faster with less pain and has been considered a healing tool in virtually all of the world’s cultures.

Former American Psychological Association President Richard Suinn states research-based evidence that athletes have improved their performance with the use of relaxation and visualizing. Modern sports psychology is focused on psychological training that strengthens the mental skills that will help athletic performance. Those skills include stress management, self-regulation, visualization, goal setting, concentration, focus, even relaxation.

The colorful imagery in this story quiets the mind and relaxes the body so your child can manage stress, fall asleep peacefully, and so much more.

Editorial Reviews

I fell in love with Lori Lite's books from the first time I saw them. They were exactly what I had been searching for since I began conducting psychotherapy with children. Teaching children visualization and relaxation techniques has often been a difficult feat until I began using books such as Bubble Riding and CDs such as Indigo Dreams, both Lori Lite creations.

Children are enchanted by this friendly journey through relaxation. Bubble Riding offers children a positive, life long skill presented in a calm, peaceful and colorful adventure. This child friendly story is well written and beautifully illustrated

Meet the Author

Stress Free Kids® founder Lori Lite has created a line of books and CDs designed to help children, teens, and adults decrease stress, anxiety, and anger while improving self-esteem and relaxation. As a parent, Lori spent two hours every single night trying to settle her young son down to sleep. Her daughter developed stress related night terrors and Lori herself became sick from anxiety. In an effort to help her family she created a story for her children that would entertain them while introducing them to research-based relaxation techniques. That moment began a journey that now includes 8 books, 9 CDs, and downloadable lesson plans.

Lori’s books, CDs, and curriculums are considered a resource for parents, psychologists, therapists, child life specialists, teachers, and yoga instructors. Her Indigo Dreams audio book/CD series has been awarded the CNE Award of Excellence. Ms. Lite has been interviewed and written articles for several media outlets, including: Family Circle, NY Times, MSNBC, ABC Radio; CBS News; USA Today; Web MD; Stress Free Living; Mind, Body, and Soul; and Job Club with Tory Johnson. She has also been featured in several publications which include Prevention Magazine, Parent Guide New York, Family Circle, Kiwi Magazine, and Aspiring Woman. Lori is a certified children’s meditation facilitator and Sears’ Manage My Life parenting expert. She gained national attention when she appeared on Shark Tank, an ABC/Mark Burnett production.

The pages are just scans of a physical book, not re-typed like other Nook books. The type on the pages isn't black, either, so to see it, you have to hold the Nook up to the end of your nose. Waste of money!

I really like reading this book to my girls. I have 3 kids and towards the end of the day I like to read something relaxing to them so we can all unwind. It really works! The illustrations are wonderful and colorful. I would also recommend the Indigo Ocean Dreams CD with the same story. You can also get these electronically.

My son learned to use visualizations to calm down. Now he is using them in summer sports. What a powerful tool. Great for kids 5+

This book is extremely helpful for parents in helping their kids learn stress management skills. I use this in my practice all of the time. The hardcover version is the way to go or if you want an eBook go to iTunes as the Nook reader is too small and the book does not show up well.
