The third issue in a series from the infamous Buddha Bar in Paris, this two-CD set diverges from the "Dinner"/"Party" split that Buddha Bar owner Claude Challe had used on the series' first two installments. Overview

The third issue in a series from the infamous Buddha Bar in Paris, this two-CD set diverges from the "Dinner"/"Party" split that Buddha Bar owner Claude Challe had used on the series' first two installments. DJ Ravin, who is at the helm for this issue, splits it instead into two discs entitled "Dream" and "Joy." The first disc has a more new age, ethnic fusion feel with songs that span from the nouveau flamenco of Jesse Cook to Adrian Enescu's ethereal "Invisible Movies, Pt. I," which features hypnotic vocal samples of Sheila Chandra. The second disc veers off into ecstatic territory with percussion-heavy cuts from artists like Talvin Singh and Kodo. Ekova's "Starlight in Daden" also appears, and Dierdre Dubois' heavenly, exotic-sounding voice fits right in with the downtempo feel of the album as a whole. While this release may not fully capture the unique energy that has made Buddha Bar known as the Studio 54 of Paris, it does present some pleasant chill-out music from a wide variety of electronic artists.

After being amazed by the creativity of Budda Bar 1, I was delighted to find there was a Budda Bar 2 & 3. I purchased #3 last week and was bitterly dissapointed. It has none of the creativity or originality of the first CD. The whole CD struck me as a cash-grab, a compilation of all ''B-sides'' that couldn't quite cut it for the first CD. My advice is to save your money.

This really gets under your skin. I just pop it in the CD player and program it to play over and over and over again. Can't get enough of this wonderful melange of world music. Everyone I play it for falls under its spell. Enjoy the ride!

Coming across Buddha Bar3 without hearing 1 or 2, I truly found disc one sensational. All the songs are fired up with intensity, capturing their moment in time. My favourite is Solitude (track4)this is one to relax to or listen while cruisin along. Solitude is absoulutely out of this world; the music is beautiful and the meaning is incredible if understood. I cannot get away from this cd... If you truly know and love the meaning of music this cd is for you.

I love this CD and keep playing it again and again. I think the first CD is far superior than the second. I rate it 5 stars because this CD keeps finding its way back again and again in my CD player.
