Build Your Body for Life, Sex and Love

This book covers so many things at once and yet it's impossible for me ignore the fact that I needed change in my lifestyle, and suddenly I am whole new person compared to what I was just weeks ago. Congratulations! I wish I'd written the book myself.

    It is really great!

Got this recommended by a friend and I must say it is good. This book has inspired me to make changes in my life. We all need a little push sometimes, and this book pushed me in the right direction.

What do mental imagery, motivational prose, practical instructions, and Sexual Healing have in common? They may all be found in large quantitities in the latest book to hit the fitness market. Teodoro's engaging, earthy style makes you want to curl up on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate (oh, wait, make that a hot chocolate protein shake...after 50 minutes with the dumbells, bien sûr!), and read his book like a novel. And this is a fitness manual??? The first few chapters consist of convincing you why you need to build your body for life, sex, and love. Although Teodoro does not spare us from the usual dreary and dead-on facts about the dismal state of health for many Americans, he still manages to keep the message positive. This is followed by another ten or so chapters of motivational text, providing a 'fundamentalist roll call to successful life change' that had me ready to do whatever it would take to be able to experience nature 'kissing you all over with its delicious lips of happiness.' Tom Robbins, eat your heart out! Teodoro, who comes across as a sexy Jack La Lanne, then goes on to lay out a 13-week plan to get you into the shape you deserve so you can get out there and start living life the way nature intended you to. All seems to be well-researched, although there is no reference list to cross-check (something for the next edition?). The nutritional advice consists of a healthy and practical combination of low carbs and portion control with some vitamins and water thrown in (junk food in moderation allowed on weekends). All sounds pretty reasonable. The background to the physical training program - the 'Supra-Power workout' - is meticuously described, although the text may be a bit advanced for the average reader. Still, the workout sessions - one each for upper and lower body - were very clear, especially the pictures and tracking charts. Particularly attractive to me, a single mom, was that it felt like I could do this program from my home i.e. no fancy gyms or leotards need apply! Teodoro rounds off this psychosocial/gastro-/physio-odyssey with his own, spicy recipe for 'Sexual Healing,' which I won't give away here, but I think it is safe to say that Marvin Gaye would have approved! And it is only natural that the book should end this way. After all, as the author says, getting fit 'is the ultimate turn-on!'

    It´s about Y O U R life and living.

My body is my temple, a vehicle for my soul. This book really made me understand that I had to cherish my life and my body more, so I can express my soul more fully through it. Hagar Gulli I. Sjölén, 'The Goddess Queen'

This is not only a guide to better health and fitness, but also gives hope that you can actually reach the goals you set out to reach. Reading this book inspired me to live healthier and fitter, and I am adding it's phylosophy to my Yoga, and meditation practices. It just makes me happy! Jätteglad!
