My 11yr old son loves this - I highly recommend it!

Yesterday, my son spent half the day working on these. He loves Lego's and building things, and this involves "building" in the way that you are putting pieces of the plane together. Each step is very detailed. My biggest advice is the same advice the author recommends: read all the building instructions FIRST! The only area where my son needed help was with the cutting, using an X-ACTO knife. His dad did that for him while he decorated the plane sections. (Maybe today we can have a lesson on how to cut by himself-but only with direct adult supervision!) My only negative is that there was no "appropriate age" definition on the box. In my limited opinion, the author was very knowledgeable about this craft and explained every step in a way that would be easy for the Pre-Teen, 11 & 12yr olds, (with some supervision - ie "X-ACTO knife cutting") through the Adult years. I plan to use this as a learning experience for us, (shhh! don't tell my son!) by mentioning a few facts about each plane as he makes them. I think any older child and his/her father could have lots of fun working on these planes together! Great idea, put together very well!
