Overview

Building 23 was part of the largest insane asylum located in New York, on Long Island. Surgical treatments were performed on the patients with hopes of making them conform to society. Blood runs deep in Building 23. Thousands of spirits are wailing from their numbered graves. These victims haunt the institution with rattling chains, whispers in the corridors, and screams from shock therapy.

I walked those halls as a kid when we picked Mom up from work. It was scary then, but I figured it was my youthful imagination running wild. Naturally, when I heard about the Long Island Psychiatric Museum, I knew there was a story there. My editor, Harvey put me on a plane - destination New York. I was also going to write the memoirs of a nurse who dedicated their life to those less fortunate. Ghostwriting isn't my thing but the family requested my services, two books for the price of one. Book nine for the supernatural series and a human interest, feel good paperback blog for the living. While I'm in New York, I'll meet up with James. You can't work 24/7 or you will be labeled by a suit.

What Harvey didn't know, while sitting in the backseat of the family car driving home from PSH, I overheard my parents talk about a nurse who was found dead. It wasn't classified as murder, death by natural causes but everyone knew it was the unthinkable. As luck would have it, I never handle one situation at a time. My personal life took an unexpected exit down Trouble Terrace. By the time I'm done, I'll be in a straight jacket.

The story is fiction but Building 23 was real brick and mortar. Demolition hauled away iron and stone but the real ghost stories are still buried under the markers with no names. How many people are classified as "normal" and who decides? Does the supreme authority, doctors, have the right to pick your brain? Medical procedure - not always.
