About the Author

H. C. McNeile (1888–1937), also known as Sapper, began writing in France when he served in the Royal Engineers during World War I. He is best known for his Bulldog Drummond novels, a series of thrillers he wrote in the 1920s and 1930s. One of the most popular novelists of his time, he is still renowned today for his intelligent storytelling and complex, vibrant characters.
