Bullets Over Broadway: The Musical [Original Broadway Cast Recording]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Leggett
Based on the 1994 Woody Allen film Bullets Over Broadway, which tells the story of a young playwright whose Broadway debut is financed by a gangster, Bullets Over Broadway: The Musical was turned into a musical period piece for the stage and opened in 2014. The songs featured in the show are all hits that were popular between 1918 and 1930, a time when jazz dominated the pop charts, and that nostalgic jukebox feel is a big part of why both the musical and this original cast recording work so well at setting a time and a place for the soap opera elements of the story to unfold.
