Overview

This book is about a naive flutemaker inhaling adventure, an ambassador of the hippie movement, who took his philosphy into Central and South America, proclaiming his gospel of love and ecology, and ruffling the feathers of the cultures he encountered. It is a tale of the people the flutemaker met and the fascinating stories they told. It is also a story about bumping into God.
I want to tuck you into bed with a good book, hook you with adventure, and tempt you to read the next story, as one leads into another. I am going to take you from a chicken coop to a president's palace, from an ancient Mayan temple in the jungle of Guatemala to the basement of an Argentine home where guerrillas hid bomb-making tapes. We will get lost together on a live volcano, feed a street gang, and play flute to a poisonous snake.
I want you to see what I saw, meet the people I met, and be wooed by the Gardener of the universe, the hidden Lover of our souls, so that we may be all we were meant to be.
This, then, is the story of Erik the Flutemaker.

Incredible story that is sure to stir the heart and soul!

From the opening lines of this precious book, I found myself captivated and unable to put it down. As a child of the seventies, I could truly identify with parts of the journey that Erik had been on and could see parallels to my own life story. This man has a passion for the things of God but certainly had to find his own way there. This is an amazing story about redemption and freedom that is available to all of us, but only few experience. Even if you are not a spiritual person, you will find this a great read that is packed with adventure from cover to cover.
