Overview

Sam Hunter lived a double life. On the surface she was a baker, but behind the scenes she smuggled people away from abusive situations. Being the owner of Sam’s Baked Goods gave her a place to call home, a place that was untouched by her secret life.

Tucker James was a vampire fleeing from his cruel maker. He came to Aaron’s Kiss in hopes of swearing allegiance to Aaron MacManus and becoming a member of his Kiss. He just wanted to be a part of a realm of vampires that didn’t starve their subjects and beat them.

Sam’s peaceful life is shattered when her secret life comes back to haunt her in her own shop. To protect an innocent, Sam winds up shot and loses consciousness.

Sara MacManus, Aaron’s mate, just happened to be there when things went bad. She sensed Sam’s powers and had Sam taken to Aaron’s Kiss. Sam was dyeing and the only thing that would save her was blood, vampire blood.

From the moment he caught her scent, Tucker knew that Sam was his mate—the very beautiful dying woman lying on the bed needed his blood—and while he wanted her with every fiber of his being, keeping her safe wasn’t an option. His own maker wanted him back.

With Sam’s special brand of magic she can save the big vampire but he isn’t ready to take it. He’s terrified of Marta, his maker, and not so much what she’ll do to him but what she could and would do to his very lovely, stubborn mate.

Meet the Author

I woke up one morning and decided to give play time to the people in my head who were keeping me awake. Little did I know that they would be so relentless and want their time right now! I wrote for the pure joy of it and to entertain my family and friends. But mostly it was to get more than an hour of sleep without a story playing out. Of course, the more I write, the more they want. So…well, as a result of sleepless days (I work through the night as a gun toting grandma – nope not a vigilantly but an armed security guard) I have lots of stories written.

Hello! My name is Kathi Barton and I’m an author. I have been married to my very best friend Sonny for at times seems several lifetimes – in a good way, honey. And together we have three wonderful children and then the ones we brought into the world - Paul and Dale Barton, Jason and Wendy Barton and Danielle and Ben Conklin. They have given us seven of the greatest treasures on Earth. They don’t live at home seven days a week! No, seriously, seven grandchildren – Gavin, Spring, Ben, Trinity, Sarah, Kelly and Kian.

    must read

Sam has saved many women and children thru a tunnel of safety from abuse. Her mother was taken from her in a young age by a brutal attack. Now, Sam doesn’t care if she lives or dies. Until that day she meets the vampire, Tucker. She’s never felt that kind of attraction nor has he. Tucker has had it bad. His master, Marta is the worst there is. He’s come to the “kiss” to start over and get away from the torture from her. Having Aaron and Sara in the gang again, it’s so wonderful and funny. They always have a way to make you laugh. Wait till you see what the kids can do. WOW!!! Kathi really knows how to stir the emotions of the readers in all ways. Hopefully she will continue this series.
