Overview

Clara never asked to be special. She was perfectly happy e-stalking her crush's blog, avoiding the attention of the Bronze Brigade clique at school, awaiting the next visit from her avant-garde Aunt Grace, and dreaming of a strange young man ... who feels too real to be only a dream.

But then her world literally separates at the seams, as a blinding light rips her mother away right before her eyes. In one, inexplicable moment, Clara loses the life and family she had known and is thrown into a transcendental battle being fought between Fallen Souls and Guardians. The Guardians have protected her from the shadows while waiting for her to awaken and remember a promise she made in another world. When Clara learns what is expected of her, and the price she must pay to restore order, she can only hope that the still dormant ancient soul that lives inside of her is truly fighting on the side of Good.

Burden of the Soul grapples not only with the battle between Good and Evil, and Action and Complacency, but pits its unlikely heroine squarely against herself. Half of Clara is an ancient soul who made a promise to fight a war, the other half is an adolescent girl who never asked to be special.

This book is a little dragged out sometimes but other than that it was a good read. What i like about it is i cant decide if Clara should be with Devin or Dave. Most books with a love triangle i choose a guy i like best for the main character but the author always picks the other one. I hate it when that happens. I sort of think Clara is a ( sorry for my language) whore. So she better hurry up an pick one guy because she cant have two.

The concept of the story was great, my problem was that it started so slow. I would have prefered it to move faster, it really lagged a lot. The first 1/2 of the book was the slowest but just as it seemed to pick up book one finished.

Burned of the Soul introduces an interesting romantic twist. However, the story was not as captivating as I had originally thought it might be. The plot moved very slowly, focusing mostly on the Clara’s losses and romantic struggles rather than on trying to solve the mystery that was challenging her. I also couldn’t relate to any of the characters or even find one that I could truly fall in love with. There were a few things I did enjoy about the book. The concepts of the soul and afterlife were definitely intriguing. And the antagonist was perfectly nasty, sending shivers down my spine as I read. But, his part in the plot didn’t last long enough. In short, I loved the concepts, but the novel simply did not live up to my expectations.

This book was honestly so amazing i just wanted to throw my Nook in excitement. I tend to do that a lot... There were so many grammatical errors, though, I just wanted to punch someone or eat my feelings away. I loved the plot and characters and everything so much that I am seriously considering, when I am eighteen, getting a bar code tattoo and getting a skeleton key bracelet now. I would range the age for this no younger than thirteen. But the readers will be readers and do whatever they want. Oh and friend me if you want. Just reply to my comment because I don't really want to waste so many characters.

This book is amazing! They need to put the rest of the series up so I can finish it. I can definitely see this becoming a future best seller! Gotta say though, the beginning is a little slow, but that might just be in comparrison to the rest of the story's majesty.

The concept of the story was easy to understand. The idea of the body is a vessel for the soul is true. This stroy is great of teenagers my age. It touchs on things teens go threw and struggle. Very good book.

This is an ok book. It was a little confusing at times and some of the characters were just getting on my nerves. I thought it would have been a great bbook based in the summary and reviews, but it was medium. It just a book to pass the time.

The theme of no matter how up side down your life gets at the time you are able to make it through it. I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what Clara was gonna to next, and how everyone would react to her decision. You can feel emotions with the characters at times. It's a great read for everyone. The ending has you saying REALLY.... Now I have to wait how long for the next one. I look forward to the rest.

I finished this book in 24 hours. I love the imagination and the surprises. I did not expect what was going to happen. Clara is an ideal character, and written well. My favorite is Aunt Grace, she is spunky and knows it! Highly Recommended. Enjoy!!
